Hey guys, i cant figure out how to put music onto my phone!
the media card is inserted...
the cable is hooked up to the phone, and to the back of the computer, but a prompt comes up saying that "wazard will download software"
when i follow the prompts, it ends by saying "wizard could not find software"
when i go to "my computer" there is no "removable disk" or anything??
When you hook up your phone to your computer with the microsd card in, you have to go to menu>tools>mass storage (or press#1)>connect to pc (or press #1) it should then come up with an animated screen on your cell then on your pc it should find your cell automatically and then show a removable drive under 'my computer'

The Sci Phone is very iffy about reading stuff. It works more efficiently by plugging your phone directly to your computer using the usb plug. The songs must be in the "mp3" folder to play on the equipped audio player.
I had the same problem and realised that you have to copy the file from the music section on your external memory to the sounds section. Firstly I sent an album to my memory card via windows media player and it went to the music section. My phone recongnised it was there on the external memory but not when I tried to play it through the mp3. I read an earlier message and it mentioned that the music needs to go into the sounds file so I copied it to that file and hey presto, I have music on my external memory that actually plays lol
Plug your phone into your computer using the usb cable. Then go into media, and my music. Click sync and it should connect then just use the windows media player. Thats how I do it. If it doesn't connect its because you dont have the right drivers installed. I dont know if doing it the way you are is supposed to work or not. I have never tried it. Hope this helps. Good luck.
I had the same problem. I put music on my SD card, and whenever I tried to play it, my phone would reset. I looked through the files, and found that the songs i had bought on iTunes were all in MP4 format. I downloaded the 4media mp4 to mp3 converter, and converted the files. When I put the card back into my phone, the music player worked perfectly!
Note: MP4 files DO NOT have question marks beside them in the phone. The only way you can tell is to highlight the files on a computer. Hope this was a help!!
Your music may be located in a folder your phone doesnt recognize...that happend to me at first.
First you want to format your memory card through your phone. This will place the required folders on the card.
I used Windows media player to sync the music on my computer to the memory card using a media port on my computer. (just inserting the card directly to my computer). Once music was downloaded I looked at the card through "my computer", and noticed folders...one named "Music" and the other named "My Music". I moved the files from "Music" to My Music". Reinserted the card into my phone and the phone picked them up.
have the newest version of bitpim make sure you have the drivers for the USB cable you are using. open bitpim let it find the phone(it will come up as other CDMA phone) click FILESYSTEM on the left at the bottom expand the folder click dload right click on lg_mysound.dat and save it to your desktop after you save it right click lg_mysound.dat in bitpim and delete it now click brew click media click lk click ms
now drop the songs you want to use as ringers in this file. they will automaticlly load into your phone. it isnt the fastest process but it works.
after they are done loading onto the phone, unhook USB cable from computer, power the phone off and then back on.
the items you just transferred with now be in the my audio file where they need to be to assign them for individual ringers.
everytime you wnat to add new ringers to the phone you have to complete all the steps above, even the deleting that one certain file. not a very hard process and has worked well for me.
good luck and happy mp3 loading songs into the phone as ringers.
