Here. This is for standard transistor. When they mention 0.6 or 0.7 volts, yours should have double that. Everything else is the same.

WHEN TO TURN SONY STR-DE635 ON AND NO AUDIO OUPUT

Maybe the Preamp driver IC, looks like a car audio ic on the main board.
Often with age the heat generated by the ic will destroy the solder.Makes it look like lava rock in bar-b-que grill. Which
causes an open circuit in the preamp driver to the audio power
stage.
Simply resolder them, most often restores audio. Should have
a bottom removalble cover.
If not, a fuse normally blows if ic or channel is shorted. Check if
display will say Power off, Protect, etc. That means there is a problem with a channel.
Most Sony receivers use darlington transistors, they short easily !!
I am an old school component level service tech, I think I do have a schematic for this model and many others.

This is a Wagan 2003-6 400Watt with USB DC to AC Inverter. Worked great for almost a year. Recently fan was varying in speed under load. Then finally blew my vehicle cigarette lighter receptacle fuse. ...

A few thoughts on this. With the transistors, if these are a darlington style of transistor, it might show a short on a good transistor. The USB "transistor" is a voltage regulator, 12v to 5volts dc. With the inverter input, some inverters use a diode in the input to protect against connecting the inverter by reversed leads. This diode might be shorted and be causing your problem. If it comes to changing the transistors, it might be cheaper in the long run to buy a new inverter. The transistors might be problematic and might not be the only thing problematic. Experience here talking!

While sitting for hours delivering 300 volts, my Ortec 456 power supply went to over 4000 volts all on its own. Not a pretty sight. Ortec 456 is a 0 to 3000 volt power supply.

The large darlington transistor (Q5) that regulates the voltage to the high voltage inverter is most likely shorted. Let me know if I can assist (eBay name koifan).

Sherwood rx-4105 output transistors

You can also use 2SD2560 and 2SB1647 130watt 150volt 15amp transistor, but it may require some rebiasing the on output transistors. Sherwood have used these transistors in their older model receivers. I just replaced those transistors in my Sherwood RX-4105 Receiver, and they work good as well.

Before I install those transistor. I did a out of circuit 20volt 4amp DC current test to a 4ohm resistor @ 200watt load to compare 2SD2560 / 2SB1647 to the B2510/B1510 mounting them on 5 square inch, 1/8" thick piece of Aluminum, and the results of the test, the 2SD2560 / 2SB1647 heats up in 60 seconds to around 120 degrees F, and the B2510 and D1510 heats up in 30 seconds to around 120 degrees F.

Blows bothe fuses on power supply bd. b- shorted

The transistors you need are 2SD2560 and 2SB1647. (either you miss-read the D for a B or it was a typo) You can get them at: www.mcmelectronic.com
2S is a prefix on all Japanese transistors.
The 010 is a date code

Also check for open resistors from the base of those transistors and the dual emitter resistor (large white three leg resistor .22ohm)

Yamaha mw8cx no sound!

Try to check your speakers if not open, with the use of a tester if theirs a resistance,If your speakers is good is not open, then check the wiring connection if not loose or cold solder connection. If the connection is good also then the problem is in the aamplifier section maybe cold solder or crack solder .Try to re solder all parts joint in the amplifier section . If still not working then check all darlington transistor for shorted or open,if defected then replaced it with the new one so it works normal again..

Hope it may help you:

Possible short in output amplifier darlington transistors. Check cable connections first, but if that doesn't help, it is likely a amplifier problem
