Question about Uniden Radio Communications
All these cat scanners work pretty mich the same
There are several ways. First, turn the scanner on and adjust the squelch so that it is quite. Then press the manual button to flip through the 16 channels. Stop on the channel you want to program. Then, type in the frequency followed by the "E" key on the lower right of the keypad. Hit the manual button to move to the next channel and repeat the process above.
You can also "scan" for a frequency. Here is how: Use the manual button to get to one of the channels. Now type in "120.0 followed by pressing the "limit" button. Now type in "125.0" and press the "limit" button again. Now press the "scan" button. The scanner will now search all frequencies between 120.0 and 125.0 on that channel and will pause and listen should a transmission happen. You can do this "limit" scan for any frequency range that the scanner is capable of receiving. Once you hear a transmission, you can press the "hold" button to stay on that received frequency. Pressing the "E" button will lock that frequency into that channel.

danval, I looked up a pic of your scanner and it is pretty straightforward. If it is the 16 channel I was looking at, here is the step by step programming.
1- Push manual button to go to the channel you want to start programming.
2- Enter the freq number in.
3- Push the E button to enter it in the memory.
4- To review what you programmed, push the Review button.
5- Use manual button to step to next channel and start over from #2
That should get you started with the scanning hobby.
The scanner has a Priority button that when activated will stop scanning and go immediatly to the priority channel if someone keys their mic.
If you need freq's (or more of) for your area, go here and click on your state and county and it'll give you a complete listing.
Hope this helps you out, let us know,, Mechanic

From your request I can't tell if the scanner has a problem or if you just need to program the correct frequencies into it. If you need the frequencies for your area, please visit
for an extensive database of active frequencies and systems in your area. NOTE: Any trunked or digital systems in your area cannot be monitored using the BC-210. If your area has switched to these newer systems, you will need to upgrade to another scanner to follow all the action. If you have any other questions concerning your scanner please give us another shout.
