It is possible that the cable to your antenna is broken somewhere. You have the right idea to start there.
It is also possible that your TV is looking at CABLE instead of AIR, or visa versa.

Testimonial: "Thanks Soccoachr... I'm hoping it is just a coax cable - despite the warranty on the tv still valid - it's a 60" and wall mounted - not something easily moved. Air/Cable option not available, no cable connected, just DVD rec & surround sound. I must head out to get a new coax soon.... here's hoping ! Cheers."

After connecting the cable to the TV, you should scan for channels. With the built-in cable QAM tuner, you should be fine with a scan for channels.

Try another TV to make sure that cable broadcasting is coming in...is there a set-top cable box involved?

Thats Samsung for you. They are designed to last just right outside the warranty then fail. Typically the LCD panels are bad, and they are the most expensive part on that Korean unit.

I called RCA's 800 number on the back of the owner manual--got a response that said to replace the unit since only the up-down channel changer buttons were not working. Using another remote (universal) now--cost only $5.

This should be repairable. It may be the LVDS Cable or the Main board problem. The only other problem is the T-Con Board.

I have reprogramed a LG tv and it keeps says no signal after receiving 5 to 11 stations

Sounds like you need a better antenna or an amplifier for you antenna. But check first you antenna coax connection to make sure the electrical connections are tight. Also check your coax for breaks in continuity. You can do this with an Ohm meter. You should have near zero resistance center to center of the coax and same for the out shield. More likely the problem is not your coax but a weak signal from over the air. Also check to see that your antenna selector on your TV menu is not set to Cable but rather Air assuming your are wanting to pick up free over the air signals and not cable.

How to connect a rabbit ears antenna, samsung plasma tv ppm42s2

If it has no coax fitting it is a monitor--no tuner of its own--signal would have to be connected via one of the sets of rear audio and video jacks with a box having the same jacks.

Tmy tevion tv needs retuning every few days, what is the proplem?

First check the aerial's cable coaxial(coax) plug/s is/are ok. Poor signal strength can cause this problem - all bad coax connections drop signal strength.

The tv s autostore will not retune

i think in your TV...... design ..... is such that once channels are autostored it cannot be retuned ..... so you try this ...... it may work ......... disconnect tv antenna cable ( or local tv channels cable ) from your TV & then click autostoring (auto tunning ) ..... definitely it will scans (search for channels ) ..... but since no cable is connected no channels will get stored ...... but previously autostored channels will get removed ...... so now again connect your antenna cable or local tv cable & then click autostore ...... it will scan for channels .... like this you can retune ....... but remember again you may get same quality of picture which you got earlier ..... if you want better quality of picture you have to use signal amplifier (increases cables signal's strength - then picture quality improves ) .....

Im trying to connect my unit to my tv to record shows and i having trouble doing so please help i am hooking it up wrong

For OTA or CATV signals, you need to daisy chain the coax from the source (antenna for OTA) to the coax input on DVD recorder and then the coax out to the coax input of the TV. If you have a set-top cable box with an incoming CATV signal, it should be connected between the DVD recorder and the TV.

The unit can tune in and record 480i (SD) ATSC (OTA digital), NTSC (OTA analog), analog CATV and digital CATV channels.

A satellite receiver or a non-CATV cable box should get the incoming signal first and then have their composite video output (A/V) connected to the DVD recorder composite video input and then their coax (RF) output (if present) gets connected to the TV. For these, you would record from the IN1 or IN2 (press Select Input) instead of selecting a channel. Then connect the composite video out on the recorder to the TV's composite video in.

Digital signals are either enough to tune in or give no signal. So check that your antenna is correctly oriented for OTA.

Separately, you can connect the video signal when playing DVDs via composite (good signal) out and component out (better signal) out to the TV's matching input. For the component video, the sound is carried on a separate cable. Then set the TV to the input source.

In the case of wanting to watch a VHS tape while taping to a DVD, do not use the Component video source, set the TV to Input 1 (composite).

I hope this helps.

Hello, I need help with a cb problem. My radio isn't reaching or receiving any thing farther than 100 feet. I just rewired it directly to the battery and I have a fire stick antennae.

Having that short a range would give me the indication that there is a disconnect in the antenna system. Here's a couple of clues: Is the connector on the back of the radio connected to the coaxial cable?

If it is not factory installed connector, is it possible that the solder job on that connector was bad? If the cable is old, it could have a crack in the coax.

Is it the RIGHT kind of coax? It should be an RG-8, and RG-58, or a variation of those types of cable. It would likely be marked with "50 Ohm" somewhere along it's length.

Is the connection at the antenna solid? A firestick antenna for CB looks like this:

5c6b558.jpg
You must make a good connection at the base of the antenna from the center coax conductor that does NOT short it to ground, and the ground conductor should attach to the antenna mount frame.

With your symptoms, it is very likely that either the center conductor has worked loose, has become unsoldered from the terminal lug, or your coax has come unsoldered from the center pin. All of these things would really honk up your SWR, or Standing Wave Ratio, which is sort of like a string on a guitar that is tuned to a specific frequency for a specific note. The center freq of the CB band is 27.155 Mhz, so you would typically "tune" your antenna for that to be the lowest. A firestick KW is not tunable, so that should not be an issue. Look to your coax at both ends, and the coax itself to find your problem. If you have a simple ohm meter it would help to locate the short circuit. Good luck, write back if you need some assistance in further troubleshooting.

Most of the channels breaking up despite auto retuning

could be one of a few things,
low signal strength, aerial out of line with transmitter.
bad coax connections losing signal strength.
coax broken inside, or old and not low loss.
Get the aerial checked for direction, half a degree out of line over a few miles and you will lose a lot of signal strength, as will old coax (aerial cable) and if you are using an unshielded coax you could be losing signal strength through the cable itself. Replace the connecters and try to use a straight run of cable instead of having joins in it as these joins, even if using connecters, will cause a weak signal. If yiu are running more than one tv off your aerial, invest in a booster.

Remote Antenna

I suggest LMR-400 cable, but generally most any coax cable will do. As far as your connectors, I suggest visiting RadioShack or The Source for these, remove your existing antenna and bring it with you to determine what N-Connectors you will need.
