My furnace runs to operating temp on thermostat shuts down then within 30 seconds try's to cycle back on three to four times. What would cause this.

Some thermostats have a swing setting that can be adjusted. A swing is the setting when you want the furnace to stop or start from the desired set point. For example, you set your thermostat at 70 and the swing is set at 10 degrees. Then the furnace will turn on 5 degrees below 70 and shut off 5 degrees above 70. Check you thermostats manual if it has this option.

My robertshaw 9620 thermostat is stuck on 70 and i can not change setting frim temp or time.

Here's how I fixed my Robertshaw thermostat that was stuck at a 70 degree reading for almost 2 monthes. When I turned on the air conditioner or heater it wouldn't stay on. I removed the cover panel and dusted off the inside which the guy at local hardware store suggested. That didn't work. Then I noticed the words "reset" right on the green circuit board on the left side. There's a very small silver button. I pressed on it and everything reset. Less than a minute later the thermostat is reading the correct room temperature. Now my air conditioner and heater are working properly.

It is increasing temp 2 hours before scheduled

Most programmable thermostats are "smart stats" which use a programmed algorithm base on a preprogrammed P (proportional) I (Integral) D (derivative) Loop. To make a long story short, the programmed temperature will make the room that temperature by the programmed time. This is based on how long it has taken it in the past to bring the room up or down to temperature. So if your setpoint is 70, and your set time is 7 AM, then the furnace or AC will bring the room to that temperature by the set time...not start at the set time.

I cant get my thermostat to go on from 40 degree--to 69,but it will go on from 70 -- to 80

mcdevito75 here, If this is at an initial Start up it"s normal, if the unit thermo will not kick in at 65--69 after the unit has been running a while, you may need a re-charge of freon.

I CANT OPEN MY SENTRY FIRE-SAFE MODEL:DS3431 SAFE. I KEEP TRYING TO DO WHAT THEY SAY DO TURN DIAL TO ZERO, TURN KEY ETC; NUTHING IS WORKING. CAN U HELP?

Make sure that the key barrel is all the way out. Then replace this example code with your factory code and try it
Example combination: 70-55-05

  1. Do two rotations to the left stopping at 0.

  1. Do two rotations to the left (Anti-clockwise) on the third time past 0 go to your first number.

So – 0 to 0, 0 to 0, 0 to 70

  1. Do one rotation to the right (clockwise) on the second time round stop at your second number.

So – 70 to 70, 70 to 55

  1. Turn directly from your second number to your third number heading to the left.
So – 55 to 05

  1. Push down the handle.
