Try plugging into a powered speaker set. The speakers in the laptop are very small.

Radio sound low and squeeky, works good in summertime

The volume control on your radio is called a potentiometer, which may be going bad. It works better when its warm because materials expand as they warm up and make tighter contact with each other.

It is also a possible a bad wiring connection exists. Poor contact will cause static, poor audio quality and intermittent output.

Your radio will have plug type connector(s) Your speakers will most likely each have two wires with single female spade connectors of different widths (keeps the polarity correct) the wire with the stripe (of whatever color) will be connected to the negative (-) speaker terminal.

So you need to check all the connections, one is making poor contact.
If both speakers (assuming you have two) sound good or bad... then start with the plug connectors for the radio and any independent black ground wire coming out of the radio.

If one speakers sounds okay check the connections on the other one. You check the connections by carefully pulling the speaker wire off of the speaker and then carefully pushing it back on making sure it feels tight and secure.

PS: If you pull the fuse for the radio, the radio will have no power and will not work. The radio coming on proves the fuse is good.

PSS: Your owners manual should provide lots of information on your sound system components.

Rear speakers not working

Are they not working or are they poor sound quality? Replace with better aftermarket speaker or install a sound system and aftermarket amp.

Seems all flat panel TV's have bad sound mainly because there isn't room to put decent sized speakers in them, you can use the audio output RCA jacks to hook an external amp if you would like

I turned on my home theater sc-ht670, and the display shows "hello", "init ", "please" and finally "wait" and nothing happens and be left with the word...

Basic steps to check if the problem lies with the home theatre system or not.

1. First thought might be to conclude that your poor audio quality is caused by your speakers, before you immediately race out to purchase a new home theater surround sound speaker package, check the basic things first.

2. The problem might not be in the speakers, but in the amplifier or the connections from the amplifier. Checking and ensuring that the speakers are correctly connected on both ends is the first step.

3. After the connections pass examination, the next step is to check if the problem lies with the amplifier or audio speaker. Some of the lower end home theater systems come with low powered amps. Most often they do not supply sufficient power to speakers to produce the quality audio you desire. This may show up particularly if the room is large when the sound doesn't fill up the room.

4. To determine if it is indeed the amplifiers then hook up your speakers to a stereo; this generally will have a more powerful amp. If the speaker quality improves then the problem probably lies in your home theater amplifier.
If you cannot distinguish any difference, then your speakers could possibly be at fault.

5. Poor cable installation and audio speaker cable are another possible cause for consideration. Cheap workmanship can lower audio quality and home theater packages often come equipped with inexpensive poor quality cables.

6. If you experience problems with your theater system, it is always best to assume the problem lies in the connections between components first and then suspect the components themselves.

7. To ensure a great sound experience ensures that everything is properly connected, your amp is of sufficient power, and the cables are of high quality. If a person makes use of these basic easy precautions a significant amount of frustration can be eliminated. If your home theater sound isn't where you need it to be, use those hints as a blueprint as you analyze your system. If it really is time to look for new components, consider those directives as you make your next purchase.

Note : Check to see if the color is bad across all input sources. If so, make sure you have your Televisions' color settings set to your preferences. If everything looks good except, say, your DVD player, and it is connected to your TV via Component Video Connections (which is composed of three cables - Red, Green, and Blue), make sure they are matched up correctly with the Component (Red, Green, and Blue) connections on your TV. This is a common mistake as it is sometimes hard to distinguish the Green and Blue connectors if the lighting in the connection area is dim.

Speakers sound bad when music is playing

Most flat panel televisions have very poor sound quality especially when it comes to music. If you want improved sound then I would suggest investing in a Home Theater System such as HTIB (home theater in a box) or a sound bar for improved audio. If you believe the bad sound is a result of a defective speaker and the TV is under warranty I would call the manufacture and inquire about it being repaired. Or you can go with my original suggestion.

The sound is very low about 30% of what i would expect it to be, Can i do anything to increase it, thanks.

Notebooks are notorious for having very poor sound quality. In order to keep notebooks small and light, very small speakers are used, which results in very quiet output, with very poor sound quality.

Before giving up, check all of your sound settings. Go to Sound from the Control Panel and make sure that everything is set where it should be. Also make sure that the master volume is turned up, as well as the volume control in whatever program is providing your audio.

Outside of that, check out some nice headphones or external speakers, whichever works better for your situation.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

AVR 7000 audio/video receiver

Harman kardon amplifire are known for that.specially AVR 7000
but sometimes this comes from poor wiring and using a wire that will not conduct better sound. Remember your wiring is very important.you may think your wiring is currect, better to double check. even if your connection is ok and the wire you are using are not better to produce quality sound you will not get sound from every speaker.

good luck
