My fryer won't turn on, what should I do?

Any parts been changed? valve might be wearing out.

Normally hi limit sensing bulb is thicker and shorter than that of thermostat.
Try tightening all wire terminal crimps and connection.

Check if the thermocouple is properly heated by the pilot flame.
Check also if the hi limit has continuity across the terminals.

The guy above is spot on try what he says .

The reason is the pilot generator will hold the safety magnet but it won't operate the solenoid.
It is old and weak.Ain't putting out enough power to operate the solenoid. Get a new generator

That is usually a problem with placing the heating unit into the bracket correctly. If is isn't put in properly the unit won't even power on. You may need to take it off and on several times to get it right.
