If you are programming the remote for a brand/model that is

when the key is pressed and turns on after release, the
remote is now in the learning mode.

learn to, the LED will blink once and then remain ON with a
lower brightness to indicate it is ready to learn.

remote control, leaving a gap of 5cm (2”).

The Technika TV might be made by Philips so try a Philips code.
Philips Digital TV 173 176 178
Philips LCD TV 078 079
Philips LCD TV/RadioTuner Combo 078
Philips Plasma Display 134 152
Philips Plasma TV 142
Philips Plasma TV Monitor 143 156
Philips TV 002 005 009 012 016 019 021 022 023
029 033 036 037 038 041 042 045 052
059 069 076 181 186 187 188 189 190
191 196 197 209 211 216 217 218 221
Philips TV/DVD Combo 181 125
Philips TV/Tuner 079
Philips TV/VCR Combo 186 067 187 068 188 069 189 070 190
071 191 072 196 077 197 078
Otherwise you can try the manual search mode. Turn on the TV and then press and hold the TV button on the remote for 3 seconds (until the LED turns off). Then release all keys. Then press Play and watch the LED blink with each code sent. When the TV turns off, press the TV key again. This stores the code. If you miss this, press Pause. Then you can go back to the previous code with CH- (or go forward with CH+) Check if the remote works for all features of the TV's original remote.
Since this isn't a major brand, you may need to use the learning mode. This works if you have the original remote to work with. Then you set it up following the directions on page 8 and press and hold the buttons one by one on the original remote (wait for the LED to blink 4 times and then stays on before releasing the button on the original remote).
The manual is available here: http://www.philex.com/catalogue/product/?id=290&cat=1080 . Click on support and you will see the link on the right hand side of the page.
There is one issue to consider. The codes stored in a remote are limited to those for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed. If your TV is newer than your remote, then you may need a newer remote if you do not have the original to do the learning mode.
I hope this helps.

SOURCE: I bought a SLX RC050 8 in 1 universal remote but can't get it to work with my Goodmans freeview recorder (which was the reason I bought it in the 1st place!) It just seems to be not finding a code
Universal remotes are far from universal. If have tried all codes one at a time and no luck it will not operate that unit.
