Question about Dehumidifiers
After I plug in my dehumidifier show red light at check option and stop working. Filter and bucket are clean and empty. I do not know why and what to do. thank you
Well you didnt mention model but most times this occurs on dehumidifyers it means the bucket full sensor has tripped , this does not mean that bucket is full, it just means that bucket is either not seated all the way in or maybe the sensor has moved in the bucket and no longer hits the sensor as it should , try reposisioning the bucket and full sensor , ck for looseness

This will need to be serviced. LG has a 5 year warranty on these models. They usually will tell you of a service center nearby which will service it free of charge since it is under warranty. If you do not live near a service center they may ship you a replacement and you send your old dehumidifier back to them. Make sure you have your reciept when you contact them so they can verify it is under 5 years old.

SOURCE: Dehumidifier Error?
This error code indicates that the problem is most likely a shorted defrost thermistor or possibly a pinched wire going to the thermistor. You will need to replace the sensor assembly - part # 6877A30013L. The Sears website has it listed for 9.99 + shipping. The humidity sensor & defrost thermistor come together in a wiring harness that plugs onto the main circuit board. It is fairly simple to repair. Just remove the front & rear grill & the metal cabinet. Remove the thermistor from the copper tube on the cooling lines; remove the humidity sensor from the front of the evaporator; pull the wire plug off the bucket switch; & remove the small 7 pin plug from the main circuit board inside the metal control box. Reverse procedure to install new sensor assembly.

Same problem with Goldstar model DH404EY7 -- stop code 01 on startup, bucket full light blinks (drains to floor).
Replaced the main controller board to fix it.
For my model dehumidifer the part # is 6871A20888A, and cost $77.44 (not counting shipping) from Appliance Factory Parts. The Appliance Factory Parts web site also provides parts breakdown (exploded parts diagram) diagrams and service manuals in PDF form.

Your unit has a sealed system leak. The sealed system is warrantied for five years. Check your owners manual for this info. You will need your receipt and to call an authorized LG warranty dealer to exchange it.
