Question about Televison & Video
You should have a remote control to power it ON. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability? Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this site too. http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops.

SOURCE: TV WONT TURN ON
I have the same problem. Have to push the on/off button quite a few times then one of the other buttons to get it to come on. Seems like it has to warm up some as well. Why dont we all get together and force WalMart to give us back our money or exchange them for a different brand, same size, that they are selling. I have not heard one good report about the ilo tv, in any size. If I had known this I would of never bought it.

Check the menu to make sure it is not in a lock mode. If that is OK, it probably needs a control board. On some brands that might be called a digital or tuner board.

My TV was doing the same thing. we could turn it on at the tv, but the remote nor the tv would allow us to change channels. we purchased the tv approx. 1 yr. 4 months ago, and have only used it for approx. 6 months. Fortunately, we did buy the 2 year extended warranty from wal-mart for an extra $58. before we had found the reciept, when we called ilo, we were going to have to pay to ship the tv to them, then pay $150 to have it fixed. Since we have found the receipt, we called the number on the bottom of the reciept, no hassel, they are sending us a prepaid postage box to return it, and will hopefully have it back soon. However, in leu of reading all of these forums, we will be hooking that tv up to a cable box so that we do not have to use that remote, and the tv will stay on one channel. this whole this has been a nightmare!! we have never had a problem with wal-mart products until this. right after we started using the tv, we kept getting an encrypted channel error, that would not allow us to do anything with the tv either, after reading these forums, we were able to fix that problem. before we knew about these forums, we tried to take it back to wal-mart, they pretty much told us we were s.o.l. until we found the receipt. so i wish everyone luck on these expensive peices of junk. i know that i will do more research next time!

Here are some to try, mine was 0189, but there are many to try. 0051 0189 0053 0198 1070 1024 1023. I think some listed codes for Emerson work as well.
