may be some of your windows system file is got currupt, u can try by starting ur system in safe-mode. if it starts in safe-mode restore the system to privious date
start>> programmes>> accessories>>system tools>>system restore

You may have to remove and reset the HDD and Memory on the unit.
Next, you will recv. the F-2 to continue or F-12 to enter setup.
Enter setup and change date and time.
Save and try.
You may have a damaged HD or boot partition and reloading the operating system will be necessary.
Reseating the HD will assure that you have a good connection and the same with the memory.
Also, if the unit has been dropped, you may have a damaged HD and may need to change it.

This could be your HDD, failed. Work through, the troubleshooting procedures.
Anyway try this below first. Run Acer eRecovery Management Copy the Acer factory default backup disk Image Create backup of the system Create a complete backup Creating an incremental backup Erase a backup point Using the option â€˜â€˜Burn Diskâ€™â€™ Burn a backup disc with the factory default settings Burn a backup disc with the parameters of user Copy the current system configuration to disc Burn a disc backup software Restore the system Restore system to factory default settings Restore system from backup user Recover the system from CD / DVD Re-install applications / drivers Other means of System Restore No Restore CD / eRecovery / password / ALT + F10 or F10

I would contact www.toshiba.com amd speak to the technical department, they are very helpfull. It may be a RAM fault or a hard drive fault but as you have data on the drive, I don't want it to go pear shaped and for you to lose any data.

Press either delete or f2 during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
