Question about Lands Phones
The corded handset will not stay on the telephone base
On the base unit where the ear part of the handset sits, there should be a movable tab, you should be able to slide this up/forward to hold the phone more securely when wall mounted.

Testimonial: "A friend found the solution - on back of telephone there's a movable plate which changes the angle of the phone elevating the bottom of the telephone instead of the top and this angle the handset sits and holds better. But I still find that the hand held part when you hand up the phone does not always hold well and falls (risk of craking the hand set part of the telephone. You mention this movable tab which slides up but this does not hold the hand held device better when slid up ...the "forward" part of your message is intriguing ...if I slide this tab up to hold the hand held piece more securely, it comes right off...where is the "forward" motion in there?"
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

AFAIK there is no answering machine that will work without being connected to an electrical outlet, neither will the caller ID. The corded handset on the base unit will work, but that is it. The base uses the AC power to transmit and receive to/from the cordless so you won't be able to use the cordless handset with out the base being connected to AC.

Please note that if you have a wireless router for you computer in you house, it will definitly interfier with the 27911's registration process. Make sure you shut you wireless router first, before you try to register to the base (27909) unit. That worked for me.
