There's a low speed screw and a high speed screw. There is also a tickover/idle screw. Its possible this is just screwed in too far. The high and low screws may have tamper proof covers on for emissions regs. Remove the top cover and you should see the screws on the side of the carb. H&L are side by side, idle is on the linkage to throttle trigger.

Carburretor possibly has a leaking diaphragm. Some workshops will do just a carby repair if you take it in. Enquire at your local service shop.

How to set idle super 2 homelite

Turn H and L jet screws all way to right back each one out 1 1/2 turns. Start and hold full throttle, adj. H for maximum speed then adjust L so it will idle and have very little hesitation when sudden increase of throttle. Once this is done you may have to adj. H a bit more for maximum speed.

My homelite 3316c chainsaw it seems the idle is off when i start it it runs full throtle

I would think that either throttle is hung open where the choke mechanism didn't release it or the throttle butterfly is missing.

Need to know best way to adjust carb to get maximum performance on my homelite XL12

Regarding the adjustment procedure you generally start your low and high mixture screws at one turn from seat, or slowly turn them in all the way until they bottom out and then back them out one full turn. You will adjust the high speed mixture screw at full throttle and get the median point between too rich (loads up) and too lean (dies out). You will want to do the same thing with the idle mixture screw, just adjust at idle rpm. You will also adjust the low idle mixture screw to give you a smooth transition from idle to throttle up. Once this is obtained, you adjust the third or idle speed screw low enough so the chain does not turn at idle rpm but high enough so the saw doesn't cut off. Hope this gets you going.

Have a 18" power chain saw.

Fuel restriction could be dirty in tank filter, or high idle screw needs to be adjusted. Do this by turning it counter clock wise 1/8 turn at a time start and check for improvement after each adjustment.
