Lenovo desktop cannot connect to the internet with linksys ae2500

What kind of message are you getting? Are you connecting with a network cable coming out of the linksys and plugging into the back of the Lenovo Desktop? if so look on the back of the computer where the cable is connected and see if you see a light. It should be lit if the network cable and the computer's network card are both good.

Look at the bottom right hand portion of your screen near the time. See the computer there. Right click on it and select Network and Sharing Center. Or click Start/Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center. When it opens up you will see a diagram of your computer going into your router and the router going out to the internet. If there is no connection you will see a red X over where the connection is being interrupted. Click on Connect To A Network. Find your network and connect to it.

How connect to internet?

First you should check what kind of connection you have available in your home or office.
If you have a wireless connection, (and your computer has wireless capabilities)* then all you have to do is identify your network and enter the password. Try accessing the networking options and selecting "connect to an existing network". Most of the times, the password is written between brackets "[ ]" in the router or modem that was installed in your house.
On the other hand, if you have a wired connection available, you should try to connect the ethernet cable in your computer and then select the same option (connect to an existing network). This one should have no password. An ethernet cable is like a telephone cable, but wider.
Good luck!
* you should check this on the manual / specifications.

What kind of HDMI cord do I need to purchase for this TV, I am running DISH Network also. Thanks!

There is only one type of HDMI cable, so any HDMI cable should be fine. Component cables are an alternative to HDMI cables, but keep in mind that component cables do not carry audio, so you will need to have the audio connected separately. Our HD receivers work great with HDMI or component cables.

Hi,

It seems that you are using usb connection to install your router. This error happens, to some, due to incompatibility issues. I suggest for you to set your wireless network by way of general steps and common cable connections. Let's put it, the old ways. This are the general steps for all types of routers.

Click the link below for proper cable connections in setting up your wireless network.

This link also provides somewhat a checklist on what you need for wireless connectivity

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/setup/wireless.mspx

Then, configure your wireless connection. The following links provides the step by step instructions for each version of Windows:

Windows XP. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/wlan_client_configure.mspx?mfr=true

Windows Vista. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Setting-up-a-wireless-network

Windows 7. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Setting-up-a-wireless-network

I hope this works for you. Kindly reply for further assistance. Good Luck!

Thanks for using Fixya!

Intermec 9180 network controller RF suystem not communicating wit

Hello,

The first thing I would suggest that you should do is that, try connecting to another host, or a laptop.

If it connects, then you might need to just change the network adapter of the host that is not connecting.

But if it still doesn't connect nor show any light, then try to check your network cable if it is faulty. You can just try connecting with another cable that you are sure that is working.

Kindly keep me posted about the problem.

Hope it helps.
Good luck.

Ibm think pad t30

Hi,

To my knowledge, your laptop (IBM ThinkPad X30 2672) does not have any built-in WiFi. It's modes of connection are IrDA, modem, Ethernet, USP, Firewire aside from the regular serial & parallel. This would indicate that if you are wireless you either have a USB dongle or PCMCIA card. Please post back with your WiFi brand/model and your Operating System. Further, please post back likewise your WiFi AP/Router brand/model.

The message "a network cable is unplugged" pertains to the absence of a lan cable connected to your Ethernet port.

Good luck, kind regards and will await your second post.
