My machine fell off the taable and now the balance wheel is stuck and won't turn over and raise the needle. How do I go about fixixng the problem?
Possibly you bent the wheel and has to go to the repair shop to replace .

Best solution is to take your machine to a a local sewing machine expert and get the device reset. I am having problems and that is what I intend to do. Fortunately, I have a 50 year old Featherlight that I can use and an excellent White Serger. That will get me through while the singer 4423 is in the shop. Good Luck to all.

This sounds more like the motor is bound up. The other solutions are, check for thread wrapped around moving parts, any belts that may have become displaced.

Testimonial: "Thank you I took the casing off and although I could not see any obvious threads I cleared out and blew into machine and put it back together and hey presto I am happy it worked.. So I reckon you are right with something bunging up the motor. Whatever it was I loosened it. Thanks"
