SOURCE: Protron 42

on the back of the TV where the power cord plugs into the back of the tv there is a small black on/off switch- it's not as obvious as you would think.... but that was turned off. Not sure how that happened since the back of the Tv was never touched when it went dead- but I unplugged the cord from the back of the tv and from the outlet and reset that switch and it worked.

SOURCE: My TH-42PX6U TV went completly dead

Ok, I hope to save you a lot of money. I finally figured it out. There are a lot of hints on the web. Once you get it fixed you will regocnize them. So here is what I did. Had to order the 2 fuses for the main power board from panasonic. The fuse number is K5D802BNA005. You only need two. Once I changed the 2 fuses I go the tv to power up but the red light blinked 10 times. This indicated there is a power problem.
There is a high probability the P board is bad. You can check this by checking th voltage on the number one pin on the p10 connector. TO do this you have to measure the voltage as you power the TV up. you should get 14 volts. if not the board is bad. I bought one on Ebay for $120. Put it in and it works. good luck.

My panasonic TH42PX60U won't power up. No red light flashing. Completely dead. I tried unpluging and using different power outlets. Still nothing. Any help?

1. Check all cable and input connections are secure & all are tightly connected.
2.Check power cords and also power outlet , if possible try to unplug and reconnect . A replacement of power cable or use another power outlet is another good option.
3. If you are sure that power is reaching your TV(check it out with a test lamp that both neutral & ground or earthing is functioning, i.e. the test lamp glows) then probably the power board needs replacement.

How to troubleshoot your laptop at start

When you plug in the power adapter and press on the power button, there is no signs of life at all. The laptop will not make usual noises, LEDs will not light up, the fan will not spin, the screen is blank and black, etc… In short, the laptop is dead. What you can do in this case?
1. Make sure the wall outlet is working and the laptop DC adapter is getting power from the outlet. Try another wall outlet.
2. Test the laptop DC power adapter, make sure the voltage output is correct. You can test the DC power adapter with a voltmeter.
3. Let’s say the DC adapter is fine and the adapter outputs correct voltage. In this case unplug the power adapter from the laptop, remove the battery, wait for 1-2 minutes, plug in the adapter and try turning on the laptop again.
OK, you tested the adapter and it’s bad. If you decide to replace the original DC adapter with a generic one, you’ll have to follow this rule:
The voltage output on your new adapter has to be exactly the same as on the original adapter. The amperage on the new adapter could be the same or higher.
If nothing helps and the laptop is still dead, apparently the motherboard is fried or there is a problem with the DC power jack. It’s possible the DC power jack is broken and the motherboard is not getting any power from the adapter. In this case you’ll have to disassemble the laptop and replace the power jack.

My Maytag dishwasher will not run. It is completely dead. Nothing lights up, etc. It is only a few years old.

Many newer dishwashers are wired to a switch on the wall as a means of service
disconnects in new homes. Also I would check the GFCI outlets in the kitchen area
and possibly the bathroom as well to see if they are tripped. (Press the test button and
then the reset button on them to test). The next thing I would check is the breaker
panel to see if the dishwasher is on it's own breaker. And lastly I would check the
connections to the dishwasher itself (after making absolutely sure power is off to the
wiring feeding the dishwasher at the breaker panel). I hope this is helpful.

Unit completely dead. no lights no fan no keypad wall outlet tests OK

The microwave oven internal fuse has blown, unplug unit, remove top case 2 to 6 screws, on right side look for a long rectangular silver capacitor, "carefull high voltage" the ceramic fuse should be next to it, "white body with silver ends" remove and replace with same rating. If the fuse blows again chances are the door switch is defective and must be replaced.

Hi!!
Check breaker box for a tripped Double Breaker, probably 30A, If breakers are OK, unplug unit from wall outlet and wait 15 min. to reset the control board, plug unit it back up and check Range. You can check for power at the outlet using a voltmeter set on the AC mode.
Keep me posted!!

Landice l 7 when turned on nothing lights up and nothing happens its dead

In order to do any of these tests you need to have a familiarity with electricity and a working knowledge of a voltage multimeter, if you don't then call a professional!! With that said you will need to remove the motor shroud then proceed with these steps:
1. Set your volt meter to AC volts, we are going to trace the power from the wall outlet through the treadmill to see where it ends.
2. With the treadmill unplugged, test the wall outlet. You should have from 115 to 125 VAC. Optimally, you will have at least 120 VAC.
3. Follow the power leads from the power cord to the lead ends. With the treadmill unplugged, connect your meter to the lead ends. Plug the treadmill in and check your reading. It should be the same as your reading from the wall outlet.
4. Continue this process with the electrical system, following the leads, as they pass through, breakers, fuses, and the like.
5. Where the power flow ends is where your problem is. Sometimes it will be in a bad connection, sometimes it will be in a shorted breaker or ( when checking the fuse unplug unit then check for continuity) blown fuse or a loose fuse in fuse holder, at times it may be as simple as a safety switch not working properly, or it may be a major problem with a component. If fuse is blown get the exact fuse ( 15 amp ceramic fuse) if it blows the fuse again, then you have a direct short in the Motor Control Board and will need replacement.

My display screen is rolling and nothing stops it. My computer says the printer is offline.

Try doing this procedure to correct the problem.

1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Unplug the power cord from any surge protectors or power strips.
3. Select a wall outlet to plug the product into. Test the wall outlet by plugging another electric appliance, such as a lamp, into the wall outlet and turning it on. Unplug the test appliance.
4. Plug the power cord into the back of the product.
5. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
6. Press the Power button to turn the product on.
7.Now check if its already working.

No picture or sound

Does it have power LED on/blinking? Any clicking sounds from inside when you connecting TV's power cord to the wall outlet? If it's completely dead - check power outlet in the wall, check power cord with multimeter, than open up rear cover and check fuses with multimeter. If they are OK - you need professionals diagnose it. Repair will start with power board replacement.

50" vizio hdtv will not turn on and light in front not on

If TV is completely dead, no green/orange light, no any clicking sounds after you unplug it from the wall outlet and plug it back in - it is a problem with Power Board. Best case scenario - It's just a fuse that needed to be replaced. You have to remove back cover and locate fuses (1-4) on the board that power cord is attached to. You have to use multimeter to check it. If fuses are OK - next step is to replace whole power board. But before you do anything - make sure you got power out of the wall outlet and/or your power strip is in working condition.
