SOURCE: 42' Sanyo Flat Screen Tv
An lcd screen cannot be repaired, only replaced and for a cost around what the went for when new. You can try looking on ebay or craigslist for the same model and swap parts. Had it happen to me, it sucks. Also your home owners insurance should cover it. Sorry thats all the help I can be.

This is a claimable accident if you don't mention the WII controller that should have been used with the strap. Did you witness it was that controller? Could have been the vacuum cleaner. I don't think it is that controller, because is with a protecting rubber cover.
The TV should not be used anymore and repair costs will not be of interest.

It has been permanantly damaged, and is not repairable. To get it work perfectly, you have to replace the screen. OK.
