Have you installed the drivers for the monitor? Do you have any light in(not on) the monitor. Have you adjusted the brightness and contrast? Unplug the video cable. Turn the monitor on. Do you have a menu? If not, it may be time to recycle this monitor.

bad capacitors on the power board internal to the monitor they need to be replaced, let me know what you would like to do

Restart the PC and get into SAFE MODE. Hit and release F8 many times right after turning on PC. If it works, then go into your video setting and either change the settings or remove the video driver. Restart the PC and you'll get 800X600 screen, then reinstall the video drivers. IF it won't go above 800X600, screen internals are bad, LCD toasted. I've seen that happen with LCDs and older monitors.

The back lamps that provide the illumination of the
colors, is shutting down there are feedback circuits when there is a problem
with the lamps it will shut down the lamps. Replacing the lamps should alleviate
