Clean the latch and hinges with a good detergent cleaner then lubricate with food-grade silicon spray.

Thermador Microwave Door Sticky

By sticky do you mean as dirty or not working properly. If the door sticks squirt a little WD40 in all the working parts like hinges and latches and try that.

The door no longer pops open when the latch button is pushed. How do I fix this?

One of the door latch arms or the latching mechanism inside the oven have broken. you may have to buy a complete door lock / latching assembly . Might not be worth it. Check with your nearest parts supplier.

Door release does't work

It may be a broken door open button, door open lever, or grease in the channel where the door open button moves in the control panel frame.

See these files:

You can order Panasonic parts from Encompass here but without part numbers, it may be best to call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

Hi, the button to open the door not working properly, I am able to press the button in but it is not releasing the door. what should we do?

This sounds like the door release may have broken (duh!) It may be that a peice of plastic has broken or maybe a spring has come off.

It may be an idea to have a quick look inside the microwave to see if you can see any broken parts near the door release... in some cases it is possible to re-glue broken plastic. Do not use super glue as this will not hold plastics properly, you need "evo stik - hard plastic adhesive" for this job.

BE VERY CAREFULL WHEN GOING INSIDE YOUR MICROWAVE! not only does it contain lethal voltages (even when turned off and unplugged), but if you do not put it back together properly you could have microwave leakage which is not good.

Given the prices of microwaves these days it may be nearly as cheap to buy a new one as pay a microwave expert to fix yours.

Sharp R-9h91B microwave oven stopped working

If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work.

Whirlpool Microwave GT4175SPS0 - door button is jammed or spring broken. I cannot open the door anymore and there is food inside the microwave. Any ideas?

This model appears to be a counter top model (if not, please reply back, since procedure differs).

You will first need to unplug the unit and remove the outer cover.

Then you'll be able to see inside where the door open button presses on the release lever, which lifts up the hook-like projections (latches) on the door so that the door will open.

Usually the part that breaks is the release lever.

You can find helpful exploded views for similar models (such as the GT4185) here, but your best bet is to call the number at that site.

Panasonic microwave start button

You may have a sticky door switch. Try a simple "slamming" of the door, don't over do it, just a little harder than normal. This may help pop the plunger in the switch back up. The switch could have also become loose and moved out of its adjustment.
If this does not help, a technician should save you time and money with this sometimes perplexing problem.
