You may have a bad bearing in the spindle shaft, raise in the air, with engine off take the blade and move it up and down, if you have any play the bearing is going bad.

Do I need an amp for my 3head sony real to real tape recorder

You do need an amp of some kind. On the back of the deck will be RCA sockets, in the red and white ones you plug a line cable to the audio in sockets of an amp or receiver. The other two sockets are record. They go to the audio out of the amp.

How do i detach the cassette holder door of my Teac W 600R?

If it does not slide up and off then some models were not made to have the cassette holder taken off and they are a real pain to get back on due to plastic and springs. Why do you want to take it off?

Husqvarna YTH 2448 mower PTO switch is getting hot and melting the plastic internal parts. Any ideas on what is causing the overload? The mower deck will shut off when the switch melts and the push/pull...

The problem with an electric cluch is that when the engine is running without the clutch engaged the clutch can turn into a dynamo which then passes power back up to the switch, most machines will have a diode close to the clutch in the wireing to stop the current flowing back to the switch, so i guess the diode is bad on your machine and power is flowing back to the switch and melting it,

Replace capstan belts

(Unplug the unit before doing the following!)
Pull the top off (8 screws). On the back of each deck you will see a motor (silver cylinder 1.5"Diam x 1.25"Long) mounted to a removeable plate. It's kind of tricky, but... Loosen the bottom two screws securing the motor mounting plate (not the motor itself) to the rest of the deck. Then completely remove the top two screws, so the moter and plate fold away from the rest of the deck. With some care, you should be able to remove the old belt and slide the new belt over the capstan flywheel and motor pulley. Fold the motor assembly back into place and secure the screws. That should do it!
Note: I used a jeweler's screwdriver and needle-nose pliers to turn the screws on the motor mount. This is real fun with all the wires in the way, but it is possible. I Also pulled the screws on the power transformer, to move it, so I could get at one screw for deck #1.
BY THE WAY: I'm ready for new belts myself, and haven't been able to find a source, except in germany. Any ideas??????
