Electric dryer won't heat

Thermal overload cutout tripped or is defective and needs replaced. Look for a red reset button near the heater element on the thermal overload. If no reset button, replace the thermal overload cutout. The timer itself could be defective, which will prevent power going to the heater element.

Where is the reset button for the heater

Most dryers do not have a reset button for the heater. No heat can mean several things. !st--heater may have burned out and needs replaced. 2nd-- some dryers have a thermal safety thermostat that if the dryer gets too hot it will trip off the heater. Usually it needs replaced when this happens and you need to see why it overheated like possibly a blocked vent pipe. 3rd-- no heat could be from a bad heat select switch, a bad operating thermostat, or a bad timer. You need to have some knowledge to trace the problem down and know how to use a multimeter for testing.

The dryer is not getting hot to dry the close, but there was something on the water heater pushing on a red button

unless I'n missing something the water heater has nothing to do with your dryer. If you have an electric dryer and the tumbler is turning then you have electricity to the dryer. If however the tumbler is not turning check the wall plugin. It probably is a CFI plug and may need to be reset.

Is there a reset switch for the heating component of the Siemens WT46W560/08 dryer

This would be inside the back of the machine wired in line with heater element. Trace the wiring back from the heater element and you are most likely looking for a push button. PS! some machines have wiring diagram included in the back of the machine???

Where is the reset button?

Most Bosch dryers have a heater reset button behind the main rear panel. If this thermostat has tripped, there is a REASON, resetting it may make things work for a short time but your issue is bound to return. There are many other things to check on Bosch dryers to ensure proper air flow throughout the dryer and house venting. Pleazer Appliance...

Frigidare AEQ600es2 does not heat. Reports error code E68, but all buttons seem to work.

You will nee The error code E68 is a stuck button error code. I recommend checking each button to make sure it loose in the plastic console. The button should rock side to side a little bit. If all the buttons are loose you can try to reset the unit control by unplugging the dryer for two minutes. If the error code comes back you will need to replace the unit control.

I had the same problem. Turns out the reset button on the back of the dryer needs to be pushed; when you push the reset button you should hear a click. If you do not hear a click the problem was probably not the reset button. The button shuts down the dryer heating elements if they are getting too hot and also keeps the drum from turning unless the start button is held down.

If you push the reset button and the dryer starts to work again, I strongly recommend that you stop the dryer and investigate why the heater elements overheated. In my case there was lint/hair build up on the heater elements themselves. Extensive dryer disassembly is required to properly clean the heating elements but it is worth the prevention of a house fire. While you're at it, clean the rest of the machine and the duct work.

Hope this helps

Not heating

It is probably a thermal fuse. Take off the back of the dryer and you will see it on the lint outlet tube. It is white and is 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches long. It has two leads coming out hooked to wires. To check it just pull one of the leads off, turn on the dryer and touch the wire you took off to the other one and the burner should come on. It costs $12 at a parts store.
