Air conditioner won't turn on

A very common problem that can cause unit to not turn on, assuming you have checked breaker on and no other mechanical problems, is the float switch on the overflow pan. Check you overflow pan for excess water. If this is your problem, your normal drain is clogged and needs to be unclogged.

Another problem that sometimes causes the controls to turn off, is the fuse blows on the air handlers control card due to some control circuit is pulling to much power and blows the fuse. If this is the case you will need an experienced techician to find the cause of overcurrent. It could be but not limited to solenoid coils on main contactor or reversiing valve. It could be a shorted control wire or shorting thermostat wire. Hope this helps.

Inside control on wall is not lighting up so therefore my ac unit won't turn on

Look inside the air handler, next to the low voltage transformer for a 3 amp fuse. Check that fuse and if it's ok check the transformer.

My air handler is blowing the 3 amp fuse on the curcuit board. what does it control

Its not what it controls but what it protects. It protects
the transformer. Disconnect the thermostat wires and mark where they go. Replace the fuse and turn the power on. If it does not blow the fuse the problem is in
your thermostat or thermostat wires.

3amp fuse is blowing.

Disconnect the yellow wire from the thermostat and tape off the end. Turn the power back on. If the fuse blows, it is not in your wire nor the compressor contactor. If the fuse does not blow, turn off the power, reconnect the wire, and replace the fuse. Then, disconnect the wire from the compressor contactor and tape it off. Turn the power back on. If the fuse blows, it will eliminate the compressor contactor coil and will likely be a "short" in the wire itself. The yellow wire goes from your T-stat to your air handler and from your air handler, it goes to the oudoor unit's compressor contactor.

HELP, A/C wont come on in FL

Stopped up drain line caused float switch to trip. Blow out drain line. Blown fuse in Air Handler. Bad transformer. You have a 3 ton on a four ton air handler. You need to lower fan speed to low dor better effeciency. Could have bad Tstat butchances are control voltage problem.
