Hello Adrian;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.
Below is a picture of your timer switch. Also is a video of how to replace the timer switch. You must play and stop the video watching where each color or combination of colors go to each terminal. Orientate your timer in the same position the person in the video is holding the new timer.

It you purchased a new timer switch there will be a wiring schematic in the box. The schematic may be difficult to read.
A new timer will cost $65.00-$85.00 USD

SOURCE: hotpoint tumble dryer CTD00 timer

It is not a difficult job...the thing to keep you out of trouble is to make sure you get the right timer switch, then remove one wire at a time.
Remove one wire from the old timer and put it on the new timer, there is not that many wires for your timer.

In most appliances I've had apart there is a stick plasic envelope stuck somewhere inside the cabinet or the control panel that contains the wiring diagram.

I'm trying to replace the timer on my hotpoint tumble dryer an I can't remember were all 10 wires go please help

It's always best to leave the old timer connected, then get the new one and move the wires one at a time from the old timer to the new. If you didn't do that.....

I don't have your model number - if you look for that - on the door or the back - maybe we can point you to the diagram. Let us know.

The wiring to my hotpoint tumble dryer

You would have had to disassemble the dryer to replace the belt, so the video was correct. The door switch assembly wiring at the front of the dryer mates with a matching connector which you would have separated for cabinet removal. Don't know why you messed with control panel wiring for belt replacement but you can go to www.repairclinic.com and enter tcym 750c to see a list of common replacement parts and maybe a video showing disassembly of a generic Hotpoint dryer. You might be able to get an answer to your wiring question.

Dryer wont heat up

There could be a number of reasons why your dryer is not heating.
1) The element may be faulty
2) A thermostat or thermistor could be faulty or need resetting (if you have one with a reset button) You would need to check your hand book for this info.
3) you could have a wiring fault or lose terminal.
4) If you have a dryer with a revers tumble (one that goes in the opposit direction for a few minutes before continueing) on some models this incorperates a revers timer that works off the main timer and when it is in revers tumble the heater is switched off. If the timer is faulty it would keep the heater permanently switched off.
