Question about Cats

Has Butler Schein truly stopped having Nutrisential Tartar Control treat of cats available even to vets?

In the past, I was able to buy Tartar Control Treats for cats from my vet but they tell me that they can no longer get them. Is this true? I have tried a different "treat" for my cat but also from Butler Schein, however she does not like the replacements and is pining for Tartar Control Treats.

I have heard there was a health issue . have you tried giving her some raw chicken bones . most cats enjoy this and will clean up her teeth at the same time.

SOURCE: What kinds of treats can cats have?

Cats are obligate carnivores, so a live rat to play with until it dies and they eat it is about the only answer.

SOURCE: All of a sudden my cat won't touch this food. he is 5 years old, and has been eating it with no problem. He usually bolts it down with no problems, but now the food remains in his dish for days an

If he's been eating this food in the past, is it a new bag? Maybe it's not fresh or this bag tastes a bit off? If the Vet didn't have any suggestions, I'd consider returning the bag to the pet store, explaining the situation, and trying another brand. If it isn't a health thing it's a mental thing, so maybe try wet food for a while and then ease him into a different dry food to see if that breaks the mental block that seems to be occurring?

Sounds like a cutie and a keeper.. i was told by a few vets (i get more than one oppinion) not to feed any cat tuna fish, it really dont hurt most but there is a few cats out there like mine was and you never give a can tuna.. I have had the same problem not to long ago and he was fine. The vet even said the young can take alot more.. :) and for the shivers i put a towl in the dryer so hes warm and dries easy..

What are the benefits of cat treats?

Cat treats provide plenty of benefits for cats. First of all, since they are given only once in a while, they are a nice addition to the cats' diet. After eating the same food over and over, getting a treat is something cats get excited about. Second, treats are a helpful tool for training cats. When a cat does what it is asked to do, it gets a treat as a reward. Last, treats (dental) help cats clean their teeth by removing tartar and plaque.

At what age can I start giving my cat treats?

I personally waited until my kitty was one year old, as recommended by my vet, although I've heard about some companies that sell treat for little kitties to help them grow and get stronger, you should have a look at www.temptationstreats.com
