Question about Dryers

1 Answer

The home thermostat is on "heat" but is blowing cool air. It does not stop when "off" is pressed.

The Hunter Fan Thermostat 44110 has been in our home about seven years, working wonderfully. There is a blinking number 4 on the screen. This has never happened. What could be causing the cold air to be coming through?

SOURCE: Hunter 44630 thermostat

Here is a link that will have wiring diagram it is for a similar model hunter. Also check your dip switch on the back of the stat to ensure it is set for gas (HG) or electric heat (HE) depending on your type of unit. Good Luck. Rule of thumb for most four wire systems is RED (power to stat) Yellow (Cooling) Green (Fan) White (heat)

Hit just to the left of the temperature and you will see a fan symbol pop up. Make sure the fan is set to the correct setting. Refresh means the fan will come on every 15 minutes or so no matter what the tempurature. Auto is usually the normal setting I think. Program mode - depends if you have programs. On mode means the fan is always on.

SOURCE: Hunter Thermostat fan won't turn off

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, I am inclined to suspect 3 possibilities:

  • sticking relay contacts (if used) (a possibility, least likely);
  • dusty thermal sensor/switch for the fan (likely);
  • time delay. design feature, will power down the fan only after a certain period that the heater has turned off. This is to dissipate residual heat not only on the heater but on the immediate surroundings of the heater element (most likely).
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Sounds like more is wrong than the thermostat. If gas heat,make sure the pilot light is lit and there is gas pressure.If fuel oil,you may have to press the restart button on the burner unit. or blead the the pump.

Im replacing my honeywell with a hunter 44110 the honeywell has 6 wires w1 to white, w2 to blk, G to green, RH to Red, Y2 to yellow and Y1 to orange, the hunter only has G RH RC Y W

Hi,
I hate to tell you this but that thermostat will not work with your system.
The system you have is a 2 stage system and the thermostat you got will only do one stage.
You will need to get a thermostat theat is compatible with stage heating and cooling.
The W1 is the first stage heating, the W2 is second heating. The same is true for Y1 and Y2 on cooling
You could double them up, but it would defeat the encomoy reasons for having a 2 stage unit.
Wish I could give you better news..

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Hunter 44110 programmable thermostat not turning off ac

You may and an anolog stat and the old one was digital if so it won't work. Digital sends info to system anolog is just a set of points open or closed. Digital can carry tons of info to system like a computer. Like comparing a computer to a rock. Sorry but you need to go back to proper type stat.

Trying to put a new thermostat on my furness , my furness is a GSC90904CXA the new thermostat is a Hunter 44110. I need help hooking up the thermostat.

I'm not familiar with that model # but most furnaces are similar. R goes to R (usually the red wire). If you don't have a seperate heat source, like a boiler, the wire needs to connect to both Rc & Rh. Stats usually come with a jumper in place. Then W to W (usually white), G to G (usually green) and Y to Y (usually yellow or blue). Before you make any connections, TURN OFF YOUR FURNACE. If you don't, you'll probably blow the fuse on the control board, or worse yet, blow your transformer.

Location of reset button on model 44110

There is a little reset button right under DAY/TIME. You will need a pencil/pen tip to press this little switch in to reset your unit.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
