I AM TRYING TO INSALL AMD ATHLON XP 2.5GHZ ON THIS MOBO BUT CAN NOT GET IT TO RUN AT CORRECT SPEED

There is no AMD Athlon that runs natively at 2.5 GHz. They were badged on comparative rating: a 2500+ will run at 1833 MHz or 1867 MHz, depending on the version.

Cannot install windows xp

If your hard drive is NOT a SATA hard drive, try looking on the back side of the hard drive, and see if the jumper pins are set at "cable select". If they are not, this could be the problem. Once the pins are configured correctly, this should solve the problem.
