The bulb or socket could be bad. I have ran into some light bulbs that have so little solder on the center post that it won't make contact on the receptacle.

My interior lights do not shut off, why?

Do you the headlight switch pushed in. That will keep interior lights on. The switch that turns the interior lights off is on the inside door jamb. Push it is and the lights should go out, of they do not it is broken and needs replaced.

1996 jeep grand cherokee no automatic interior lights

1. If you have the light switch in the wrong mode the lights will not operate when you open the door.

2. If the interior lights do not operate at all (ie you cannot switch them on and off manually)then you need to check the fuse for the interior lights.

3. When set to the correct mode, the interior lights will operate from a door operated switch so if the switch has failed the lights will either stay on or not operate at all when you open and close the door. Eventually these door switches fail with repeated use and need to be replaced. (Consider how many times the small door switch has been operated since 1996).

How do you replace brake light in 1976 2l kombi?

Brake light switch is located at the brake pedal, disconect switch & bridge wires at plug, if brake lights on switch is faulty, You probably have a fuse for interior illumination.

Interior light stays on...light is directly beneath light is not cooling

HI. There is a door switch that controls the interior lights. This switch is also connected to the fan motor circuits. The actual door switches will be the lone culprits in your case. They are not functioning at this moment. This switch fault will effect the cooling process and cause an abnormally high temperature inside the unit, due to no Evap fan action and interior light heat.

Simply replace the door switches to correct the issue.

No Interior lights.

I would check the headlight switch. I cant believe the dealer would keep replacing the relay without checking something else. Obviously something is blowing the relay. Short in the switch,or a bad wire.

The inside light doesn't shut off

Open one door at a time and press the door button-switch (in the door-frame, hinge side usually) to see if that switch will shut off the light. If you find one that does, either extend the button length slightly with hot glue or epoxy, or replace the switch. Make sure the light has not been turned on at the light or that the switch is bad.
