Question about Radio Communications

1 Answer

How do you change the frequency in an audio modulator so it will transmit solid matter. Everything has a frequency so it should be possible.

I am working on the idea that where everything resonates at a certain frequency the it should be possible to transmit anything with in that frequency. If we can do so we could possibly send space ships at or near the speed of light making distant traveling to mars etc. very plausible.

SOURCE: need to program in 1-10 this possible ?

Okay, I'm going to attempt to assist you with this. If your TalkAbout 200 has a screen showing your channel number and a smaller number in the upper right. It is possible your radio could be programmed to match another TalkAbout or FRS (family radio service) style radio. I cannot find an owners manual in English for the T200. Here is one you can translate from Czech (Simply copy and paste this into a google search with the word translate in front of it.) It will give you the instructions for reprogramming your "interference eliminator code", aka CTCSS. Your radio has 14 built in frequencies. From your explanation I would assume you need your BIG number to be 1, and your small number to be 10.

If your TalkAbout does not have a screen, you will not be able to do the CTCSS #10. It is a CSQ model only.

Sidenote: If the other radios you are wanting to talk to are NOT FRS-type or TalkAbout radios, your radio will not match them.

SOURCE: makes loud tone when pushing ptt button

The ptt switch or circuit is not disconnecting the audio circuit. Open the unit up and check the wiring, interconnect plugs for something shorted not canceling the receiver audio.

Transmits and receives no modulation out

I am not an expert but I think there can be little or no modulation of the carrier wave unless there is an audio input to the modulator. Like any audio amplifier a transmitter modulator (amplitude modulation) is quiescent without an input.

If the modulation amplifier and audio pre-amp are working and modulating the carrier wave and the antenna is ok then audio modulated radio frequency must be being transmitted.

It would be an extremely good quality CB that had a modulation meter. Mostly all they have is a meter giving an indication of the rf power being sent to the antenna and that rf (radio frequency) power would be the same whether modulated or unmodulated.
The modulation envelope, incidentally, is traditionally viewed or measured with an oscilloscope.

The indicated rf power could be verified using a field strength meter but the only practical way to discover if a standard CB is transmitting modulated rf is to listen to the transmission on a suitable receiver. If the squelch is turned down it will be obvious if the rf carrier wave is being received as the hiss would be silenced. If no audio is received it can be assumed none is being transmitted.

I suggest you try another microphone and lead and if that doesn't work it is clearly a job for a repair shop.

How do I turn a 4 meter two way radio into a vhf tv transmitter?

Depending on the frequency you want to transmit video on, you would have to modify the synthesizer to produce RF on that frequency. That may or may not be easy. Then, you have to build a wide band modulator (DC to 6MHz) that can modulate the DC voltage to the final RF stage. If you want audio as well, you would have to build another modulator at 4.5 MHZ (or whatever your audio carrier frequency is for your TV standard) and add this to the video signal.

Check the ARRL or the RSGB HAM Handbook for more information.

Doing this modification will not be easy!

Moving would be your best option. Everything on the planet vibrates due to external sources. It is called "Natural Frequency".You need to find a building that is more solid in construction and does not transmit vibration. A critical natural frequency vibration can result in total destruction.

Audiotechnica atw 3110 with lavalier mic at 898 on wire instrument usualy works fine but on stage wery often sound form instrument with it start to transmit dirty sound some distorsion, like two untuned...

try changing frequencies, also make sure that the mic and the reciever are on the same frequency, what it sounds like to me is that it is set to the adjacent frequency, also be sure the batteries are fully charged.

Sideband carrier??

im not sure carriers are measured in pounds, but SSB is a supressed carrier mode, in SSB only one sideband is transmitted and the carrier is inserted at the other end in the receiver. In AM mode the carried and both sidebands are transmitted. with regular am there is a carried and when modulation (your voice) is added a signal appears both above and below the carrier frequency at a distance relative to the frequency of your voice. so if you have a carrier at 1000 khz and modulated it with a tone of 100 hertz the signal will contain frequencies of 900,1000, and 1100 hertz, then its changed to SSB by supressing the carrier (1000) and one sideband (1100) if you are on lower sideband and (900) if you one upper sideband, and transmits the remaining frequency.

Radio set up on samsung j700

FM radio works the same way that AM radio works. The difference is in how the carrier wave is modulated, or altered. With AM radio, the amplitude, or overall strength, of the signal is varied to incorporate the sound information. With FM, the frequency (the number of times each second that the current changes direction) of the carrier signal is varied. FM signals have a great advantage over AM signals. Both signals are susceptible to slight changes in amplitude. With an AM broadcast, these changes result in static. With an FM broadcast, slight changes in amplitude don't matter -- since the audio signal is conveyed through changes in frequency, the FM receiver can just ignore changes in amplitude. The result: no static at all.

Having Trouble Receiving Through"TPL"

Are you sure that you are using the exact RX Frequency? is the radio in 25Khz if this radio is working on 12.5Khz with the IF filters changed to work in narrow band (12.5) could happend this.
Do you know if the repeater is on parameters mostly of the cases when an over modulation is received this will cut the PL modulation for short periods.
If the radio transmit over modulated could "erease" the PL modulation for short periods.
I think this radios should be checked all the Tune parameters to make sure is ajusted properly.

Good luck

Lost channels in a galaxy 66v cb radio

as far as the transmit frequency changing while you have the mic keyed this is normal, the transmit frequency is a little different than the receive, as far as the lost channels go you need to check the galaxy website and check to see if thier is any fixes listed. if none is listed then you can send the tech's a e-mail and tell them your problem and they will advise you on what to do.
