Go to the setup option on remote and find caption options there. There will be a choice of CC1, CC2 and maybe a few more. just change it to OFF.

How do you turn on closed caption on apex digital flat screen tv?

not all sets have the capability, not all programmes have captions.

This tell you how to turn OFF, but just choose ON.
http://captionmax.com/resources/turn-off-captions/

and I found this

Best Answer: There are two types of closed captions; analog and digital. It's possible that you turned one off and not the other. Some sets will only allow you to access the menus for the type of signal you are watching so make sure you are tuned to the offending channel when you access the menus.

Also, you might want to check other devices that the signal may go through on it's way to the TV like cable boxes and DVD players. Sometimes those have closed caption decoders, too.

Need to turn closed captioning off

Hi

Captions will appear at either the top or bottom of the screen while a captioned broadcast is received.

When you select the Text (T1-T4) mode, the TV can receive teletext signal.

When you select "CCD/Text Off ", the CCD / Text function is off.
3)Press the CC button to turn on/off the CCD/Text mode
OK.

How can I turn off the closed caption/sub titles?

Subtitles are controlled from the DVD player. If there is not a 'Subtitle' button on the DVD player's remote, you will have to turn off the subtitle from the DVD player's menu system.
If you no longer have your manual, you can likely find it here: http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/apex_digital/apex_digital_dvd_player_product_list.html

No Closed Caps With HDMI Cable

The information the closed-caption decoder in the TV needs is not provided over the HDMI cable from your converter box. This means the TV's closed-captioning can't be used. But the cable box should provide closed-captioning, so check its setup menus. Contact your cable provider for more information if it's not obvious from the box setup how to turn captions on.
