Check whether the audio is muted by accidental press at remote control button. Enter its sound menu, and check it. If muted, as you know there will be no audio output. If not muted, check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. SOURCE: audio box flashes on screen {mono/stereo}

For some using composite wires instead of the coaxial may not be a possible because you use the red, white, and yellow spaces for your xbox or playstation. Here is another solution if you use digital cable or a similar cable box. This may work for many other cable boxes. Go to your cable box's settings and look for an option to change your "Audio Range". which is probably right now set on either "normal" or "narrow". If this option is on "narrow" then change it to normal and monitor the results. If you continue to recieve this problem then change the setting again to "wide". This should eliminate the box all together. If anything you might only see it once or twice in the entire day instead of ever 20 secs like mine was. I sincerely hope this is helpful.. Let me know.

How to switch from analog to digital mode

Any contemporary monitor is able to switch analog/digital mode automatically if connection from signal source to monitor is set up properly.

Connect digital output from your graphic card to DVI input of the monitor. Disconnect any other signal cables from monitor and switch on both devices (PC & monitor). Wait a while. Monitor checks its inputs and a activates digital DVI, because it is only one active input on it.

If none picture excluding error message of monitor is displayed, go through these steps:
1) Check whether your monitor is set for automatic input selection. If monitor buttons have no response try to use analog input to activate screen (any picture, desktop background...) and then get monitor menu access by pressing menu button.

2) Find out what connector type has your graphics card in PC. Possibilities are: DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort and some their options. See Wikipedia for connector look if you are not sure.
Remember that blue D-SUB (VGA) connectors are analogue and you cannot activate digital mode through analog VGA cable.

3) Use appropriate cable to connect monitor to PC.
Example: Your PC has HDMI output. Use HDMi-to-DVI cable. Your monitor input is DVI and common DVI-DVI cable is not suitable in case you have PC with the HDMI.
Note that DVI-to-DVI, DisplayPort-to-DVI etc. cables are available. You must buy right one.

Be aware that "Auto" button is inactive in digital mode of monitor.

Analog channels are fuzzy but the digital channels are clear

So what's wrong??? Analog signals that may seem pretty good on an old CRT would seem terrible on the newer TVs because all the flaws show up much sharper. Thank goodness for digital signals. With digital signals, unlike analog signals, you either get a good clear picture or no picture at all.

The picture freezes and the sound is lost. Until the picture returns and the sound returns, this happens every couple of seconds.

If you actually have the Zenith model TV (B25A24Z), the trouble is not in your set. This model has only an analog tuner, and what it sounds like you are describing is digital pixellation. This is what happens with a digital-to-analog converter box when it gets a weak signal, with rain fade or heavy snow on a satellite dish antenna, or when a digital cable system has some signal problems. The converter equipment locks the last complete frame (or breaks up into blocks and freezes) and the sound is muted.

You'll need to look for the cause of your trouble in whatever is feeding the TV. If you have a digital converter box for off-the-air broadcasts, make sure you have a good antenna and all the connections are tight. If you have satellite TV service or digital cable service, you might need to contact your service provider for help in troubleshooting and fixing the trouble.

Tv suddenly shows no audio and no video for digital channles only yet all digital channles are detected durring the channel search

Sounds like you have a bad signal from the antenna or the cable. Unlike analog TV if the signal level drops below a certain level you loose the picture and sound completely. The fact that digital channels are detected during channel search does not mean they have a good signal. Try moving the antenna about.

It only passes the signal it see's. Digital for Digital and Analog for Analog. Try running a Standard analog RCA from your Cable box to the receiver then try and record. Hope this helps. If you still have an issue, post a comment and I can help you further.

HDTV Cable box conflict

This set does not support 480I in the DTV mode, only 480P and 1080I is supported. Try setting the analog setting in the cable box to 480p and that should take care of watching the set in DTV. Most cable boxes have a setting for format changes in the customer menu, depending on the type of box. If you are able to change the format, then the other inputs will not work since they need a 480I signal, as well as VCRs. Another setup could be to use the S-Video cable or Video input jacks to get a better picture in 480I instead of using the cable input. However, when changing from HD to Analog, you will have to change to the correct input on the set as well. Hope this helps.
