Then you have typed either the username or password wrong.

go to gmail.com and try entering there. if it's the same, then click forgot my password.

Is this on the website, or are you accessing via a Mac/PC

If Mac, try this
1. Open Preferences -> Accounts
2. Click on dropdown next to Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) and click "Edit SMTP Server List"
3. Change "User Name" to full email address and re-enter your password
4. Click OK.
The dropdown should no longer say (Offline)

My email will not take my password cant send or recieve email

If you have forgotten your password, then you need to RESET YOUR PASSWORD thru Website. They May Ask you for few security Question, which you put when you made this account. Even if you had provided your Mobile Number while opening your GMail account, GMail may even verify your Email by sending Text to your Mobile Number. Keep me posted if it helps.

Why does Castleville keep asking to refresh?

You didn't provide much detail, so bear with me for awhile. There are a number of possibilities.
Gmail
It may not seem intuitive. First of all, are you able to login to your alternate email, you needed one to setup Gmail? The reason I am asking this is that the first thing to check is that your password is not correct. Remember that Gmail's password is case sensitive, so double check that you have entered it correctly.
Next are you able to read/send/delete/archive your Gmail from a browser? To troubleshoot this, if you don't have the Chrome browser, get it. In the Chrome browser, at the initial screen, click on skip for now. Then go to https://www.gmail.com. Are you able to login to Gmail? If you can login to Gmail from the Chrome browser. If your password is incorrect, and you don't remember it, you may request it to be reset and the new temporary password will be sent to your alternate email, so you'll need do access that account to read your password and the instructions to using it.
Once your password is correct, or you are able to get in to Gmail in Chrome, you'll need to confirm a couple of settings in Gmail. Click on the gear, and select Settings. Along the top you'll see several settings, select Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Next, ensure that POP is disabled and IMAP is enabled. If that is not the current setting, change it. Click on Disable POP and click on Enable IMAP. After making those changes, you MUST click on the Save Changes button. If you miss that step, it won't change.
Mac OS X Mail App
Now everything is setup correctly in Gmail. The next is in the Mac OS X Mail app. In the Mail app, select the Mail menu item and go to Preferences... then select Gmail or whatever you called it. There will be three tabs shown. Select Account Information. Then in there, make sure that your Email Address is your fully qualified Gmail address, meaning <user id>@gmail.com. Then, go down and make sure that the Incoming Mail Server is set to imap.gmail.com. Then the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) is set to Gmail. TLS Certificate should be set to None.
Now go to the Advanced tab. Then make sure all the top half check boxes are checked except make that the Send large attachments with Mail Drop not selected. Leave the IMAP Path Prefix blank. Then make sure that Port is set to 993 and that Use SSL is checked. Also that Allow insecure authentication is NOT checked. Check the Use IDLE command if server supports it.
Now close that Accounts pane and close and restart Mail. It should already connect and be on-line, but just to be sure, restart Mail. This should solve any setting issues. Let me know if you are able to login via the Web Gmail, via the Chrome browser but it still shows as off line in Mail.

How do I find my password for gmail?

Suggest you click on "forgot password" and Gmail will send a temporary password to your alternative email address. This will enable you to log in, and then change your password. I keep a hard copy of all my passwords inside a favourite book, because otherwise I forgot them. Good luck!

A gmail 75imary@gmail.com Keeps appearing on my apple post site asking for my password. This is not my account. What should I do?

I am assuming you are getting this when you are signed into Gmail.
I found these help items:Someone changed your password
If you suspect that someone else knows or has changed your password, please reset it so nobody else can sign in to your account. To do so, just enter your username on thepassword-assistance page.
Account username:
  • For Google Accounts without Gmail: the full email address you used to create your account.
  • For Google Accounts with Gmail: everything before '@gmail.com'
If you think someone has access to the email address associated with your Google Account, please change the password for your email as well. Learn more about keeping your account secure.
If you're unable to reset your Google Account password, and you can't sign in to your account, you can fill out the account recovery form.
About phishing
A phishing website or message tries to trick you into revealing personal information by appearing to be from a legitimate source, such as a bank, social network, or even Google. If you receive a suspicious message, do not provide the information requested. We've included some tips to help you recognize phishing and keep your account secure.
Think before you click
Pay close attention to sign-in screens.
Cyber criminals can use links in emails, tweets, posts and online advertisements to direct you to fake sign-in screens, where they can steal your password. Only sign in to your account when you are certain you visited the real site directly. Check the Internet address to be sure.
How can I recognize phishing?
You should always be wary of any message that asks for your personal information or messages that refer you to a web page asking for personal information. If you receive this type of message, especially from a source claiming to be Google or Gmail, please don't provide the information requested. Google will never send unsolicited messages asking for your password or personal information, or messages containing executable attachments.
Messages or websites phishing for information might ask you to enter:
  • Usernames and passwords
  • Social Security numbers
  • Bank account numbers
  • PINs (Personal Identification Numbers)
  • Full credit card numbers
  • Your mother's maiden name
  • Your birthday
What should I do when I see a phishing scam?
Most importantly, never reply to suspicious emails, tweets, or posts with your personal or financial information. Also, don't fill out forms or sign-in screens that link from these messages.
Most email providers, including Gmail, allow you to report suspicious emails and phishing scams. To report phishing in Gmail, click the drop-down arrow next to "Reply" and select "Report phishing."

Mail app doesn't require a password. Your ISP, from and to which Mail fetches and sends email messages, requires a password. Deal with them.

Set up gmail today but can't get in

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

You had to have set up an alternate email attached to your gmail to sign up.

Go to your alternate email to get the correct name exactly how you put it in.

In that email it says congratulations, you have set up your email account with a direct link in blue

of how you put your name in. Click that link, then when it asks for you password, hit forgot password

under where you are supposed to enter it. It will ask for your email address and send a new password for you to get in.
