Image is permanently there. The only way to remove would be change the screen.. Which usually costs more than the price of a newer LED tv.

TV burn in / fading effect?

TV has an image burn into it? Put the tv in white wash (all white screen) by going into your settings. By having it in an all white screen may help get rid of the burn image. Must have it on white wash for some hours until you can see that the image is disappearing.

How do I remove burn images from a Sanyo TV?

I am assuming this is a Plasma TV? If so, Once an image is burned into the screen, there is now way to remove it. There are some ways to remove temp burn-in images like playing a white screen, and a screen wipe program. But,this only helps if you see a burn-in after watching the same image for a few hours. If the image has been played over a long period of time. "Like a store demo, security camera, ESPN like at a bar" There is no repair for this. And the screen will need to be replaced, and the cost of the replacement is sometimes more than buying a new TV. Sorry to have to give you this bad news. If you bought a extended war.? It may cover the burn-in. Some warranties
will cover that. It is worth a try.

No,only way to placed the Plasma screen panel, that not an option, because replaced the Plama screen panel will cost the same as a new tv.Sorry have to live with the burn in image or buy a another tv,buy a LCD or a LED tv this time, not as bright and that good with cinamax movies, like a Plasma tvs,but u will not have burn in easy as a Plama tv.

The screen on my tv has two slightly discoloured vertical bars

Sounds like image retention. Is it an older Plasma TV?
Image retention is when an image left is left on for a while actually "burns" into the image. It would be especially noticeable in BluRay because it is a bright image. The burn in was probably cause by watching Cable in 4:3. Try to find a static white image to display over night that should remove the burn in.

Burn in images

HELLO

When "creen burn" occurs it is impossible to remove and the image will be there permanant. I have seen the same happen to CRT TVs and CRT computer monitors. You have probably had the image on the screen too high in brightness/contrast. Coupled with the fact the image did not change much.

Sorry but there is NO fix for this - apart from a replacement TV.

Question About Picture Burn

Picture burn is caused not only by xbox's, wii's and such, but by regular tv as well (those little insignias in the bottom right hand corner).

Main thing is to turn any brightness controls down to lower levels, and do not leave still images on the screen all the time. As long as the images are moving, then the screens don't "burn".

Plasma tv burn in

Hey napa15rt,

Many manufacturers may suggest not using video game consoles in conjunction with plasma or projection TV's, due to the potential risk of image retention. Unfortunately, image retention (or "image burn") can be caused by any number of sources including letter-box formatting, test patterns, scrolling banners and even the heads-up displays of many video games.

While some video game publishers may have taken this into consideration by including a "screen saver" of sorts for when the game is on pause, this cannot be guaranteed to apply to every game or console available.

Generally, you may avoid image retention by limiting the amount of time that any image is displayed on your TV screen. Simply turning the TV off when you're taking a break can often be one of the best ways to do so.

Additionally, please keep in mind that some Insignia TV models may offer a feature called Image Sticking Minimalization (or ISM) that is designed to help prevent image burn. For more information on your TV model and the ISM feature, you may wish to refer to your owner's manual or Insignia's website:

http://www.insignia-products.com/default.aspx

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
