you have to contact Microsoft for the Key.....But they dont support 98 anymore. You have to upgrade to xp or Vista

You can find your win98 key for win98 already installed on your computer if you have lost it by using a marvelous freeware program called Belarc Advisor. It will list all hardware, serial numbers, software, keys for microsoft programs, and all updates.

I had the same problem and ended up buying a new Win98 SE full edition off of ebay that was new and had the key code in it. Microsoft told me the same thing about not supporting Win 98 anymore and that I had to upgrade to Windows XP. Seems to me there are alot of people out there with Win 98 SE still so there should be some kind of support for us.
