Try to plug the RAM out and then repplug it in.if this does not work then shut your computer down by pressing the power button for 5 to 6 sec.then turn it on but keep pressing the f8 untill u see safe mode screen.choose safe mode and then u will be in ur computer but without sound and ugly graphics.then go to system restore and restore ur computer to any previous date.and u r ready to go. after few minutes ur computer should boot into normal mode.note(do it on ur own risk i m not responsible for any damage caused to ur computer) .I hope this could help.let me know if it worked.

Press and hold the "Fn," or function, key on your EEE PC-1000's keyboard.
Press "F3" while holding "Fn" to lower the brightness on your monitor.
The brightness on your computer decreases each time "F3" is pressed.
Press "F4" while holding "Fn" to increase the brightness on your monitor.
Each time "F4" is pressed, the brightness increases.
Press "F8" while holding "Fn" to decrease the volume from your EEE PC's speakers.
Each time "F8" is pressed, the volume decreases.
Press "F9" while holding "Fn" to increase the volume from your EEE PC's speakers.
Each time "F9" is pressed, the volume increases.
Press the "Ins" key while holding "Fn" to take a screen shot, or make a copy of what is currently on the computer screen.

Restart your ASUS laptop and press the "F9" key while the computer is booting up. This will open the boot screen. Select "Recover Windows to Entire HD" and press "Enter."
Press "Y" three times when asked if you are sure that you want to restore. The laptop will restore the factory settings. The computer will then shut down and start up again.
Approve the license agreement, then select your "Language preference." Enter your name into the box and click "Next."
Enter your password twice on the next screen and select "Next." Enter the time zone and date information, then select "Next." Select "Finish" on the next screen and the computer will reboot.
