Question about Shimano Dura-Ace 7900 Di2

1 Answer

I have an early version of the Shimano DI2 electronic shifting gearset and I cant remove the battery. I flip the release and press the release button but the battery won't budge. Must not have lubed

I tried to pry it off but no luck. Should i use a WD40 type product or pull it with pliers?

I can't get my Shimano Di2 battery to charge. Do I need to replace it? I purchased the bike in 2012 and have never had this problem until now.

Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of recharge cycles. If yours will no longer fully charge, including after you run it all the way down. then it needs to be replaced, assuming your charger is working properly.

Dura Ace di2 front derailleur 10 speed (7970) not shifting correctly. Moving back and forth with clicking sound. How do we fix?

First, is cable tight, it may be that the cable has loosened or stretched. In this case, Put chain on inside spocket, loosen hex head bolt, pull tight, retighten hex head.
It also could be the limit screws have vibrated loose. There are two of them on the top of the derailleur. Make small adjustments in one screw, check to see if it improves shifting or makes it worse. You didn't say whether it was the small or larger spocket. The limit screws control how far in or out the derailleur moves. Read more on Shelton brown .com under derailleur heading

Disconnect brake cable at brake. Check operation without any cable resistance. If its OK, remove cable from brake lever end. Check lever operation without resistance. Use a bit of sewing machine or light oil to lubricate lever pivot, cable. If no problem found reinstall in opposite order.

3rd Di2 install and first 2 worked perfectly. On this bike when on big ring big cassette (23) get pretty good chain rub on front derailuer. Have tried setting tail of derailuer in more than usual and...

Derailleurs are mass-produced and are essentially identical to each other, so unless damaged it's unlikely to be the derailleur. A sticky cable could keep the derailleur from trimming properly. It also can lead you to think it's tight enough when it is not. Otherwise it's hard to diagnose remotely. Derailleur must be both at proper angle and height to shift well, cable both move freely and be at proper "tension."
