Question about Car Audio & Video
Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: My JVC car stereo will let me listen to the radio
I had the same problem, it occurred after my battery had run flat. To fix it you need to reset the unit. To do this, remove the clip-off fascia, and on the main body of the unit there small hole, just to the left of the connector. Push a narrow pointed object such as a pen nib into this hold until you feel the click. The unit is now reset and should be working properly. You'll have to retune your saved radio stations, but the cd player should now be working.

SOURCE: My car stereo flashes the word "PROTECT"
If this happened while playing music at a little higher volume, you must check the speakers for short in coils. disconnect the speakers to see if the protect condition changes, if so check the speakers and wiring. If not then you must have blown up the output IC or a power shorting within the set. You will have to remove the pcb disconnect the power to the output IC to confirm the fault. Helpful I hope. Good day

SOURCE: I have a kenwood KDC-MP438U stereo. Ipod error.
Hi If anything the stereo was probably designed and tested using a certain version of the Iphones software, now that version 4 has been released the way the IPhone communicates may have changed.
As a result the stereo is no longer able to talk to the phone and vice versa. your probably best off contacting Kenwood direct to see if they are aware of this problem and if there is anything that can be done about it.

SOURCE: Trying to play flash drive in USB port on stereo
Make sure that the music files are indeed mp3 format. An iPod will play several different formats but most av head units only play mp3. A lot of the songs that are downloaded from iTunes are actually mp4
