don't know what you will pickup. Nearly all law enforcement, ems, fire have gone to digital trunked systems that are encoded. The above link has a link to the operating manual. You will need to know the frequency of whatever you are wanting to listen to.

Can a realistic pro 55 model 20 124 be programmed to different frequencies?

Hello, your scanner appears to be a 10 channel crystal controlled scanner. I'm estimating it to be around 30-40 years old. I think there is a couple companies still making custom crystals but you have to find the freq's #'s to give them. Here is the freq. range it will pick up. Frequency range RX 30-50 / 144-174 / 450-512 MHz I personally would take the money spent for crystals and apply it towards a newer scanner that is programmable so no crystals needed. Here's a link to some more info;

Realistic patrolman pro16A radio scanner, do not know how to program freq, this scanner does not have crystals, does anyone know how or have a manual??

I have checked several sources, and they all show that the PRO-16A is a 16-channel VHF/UHF CRYSTAL scanner. Remove the bottom cover and you should see the crystal sockets.
