I dismantled the fan housing from the lower tube to unclog. When I re-assembled, aligning the fan housing (with the O-ring properly positioned), and the bottom of the outer bag slipped properly into the "sleeve" at the bottom. The handle's downward motion now so stiff that I have to manually adjust the bottom part to go under tables and back up again, and then readjust manually at each level of the handle. What could be the problem?

Need to remove lower tube assemby

Not sure that I would use pliers but you should be safe in using some lubricant around the pipe, just make sure you clean the oil off real well before putting everything back together. I have used a rawhide or a rubber mallet to bang on the outside of the fan housing to knock it loose as well. Good luck!

I have a clog in the vacuum line that comes out of the face that runs to the vacuum tube to the bag

To check for blockage in the fan housing, remove the bag assembly. Grip the lower bag housing and turn it counterclockwise for removal. If it has not been removed regularly to clean out debris, it may be hard to remove. Insert a screwdriver between the housing and the motor for leverage. For easier installation, wet the seal on the motor outlet before re-installing the bag assembly. Remember that the motor will not run unless the bag housing is fully attached.

How do i change the fill tube

Cut the old fill tube from the lower housing and remove the top adapter from the old tube. Clean the bag and housing to be sure the spout the tube attaches to is clean. Be certain to use the fill tube used in the Generation 3 and 4 models which has a wire in it. Wet the lower few inches of the tube and screw it fully onto it's base in the lower housing. The upper adapter can be attached with cable ties.

You have used your Dyson too long without thorough cleaning - Here's how.

Obtain a torx screwdriver, or a set of torx bits, you will need to select the correct size when you come to remove the screws. They are all the same, so you will need only one.

Take the radix catridge off the machine as if to empty the clear plastic sucking container. (From here on your hands get dirty).

Firmly pull out the inner conical funnel. Here it is removed. (Note I am showing photos of the cleaned device).
_182.jpg

Next remove the three torx screws. You can see the recesses these are hiding in in the above picture they are the holes without nozzles. The screws are self tappers screwed into plastic, and are easy to undo.

Remove the lower part of the housing and its rubber sealing ring.
_183.jpg
Note the orientation for when you put it back together. The above photo shows the lower bell housing opened away from the top part as if opening a door. It's pretty hard to put them together incorrectly so don't worry too much.

You now need to remove two further screws which are recessed into the sides of the inside of the housing. Their positions are easy to find as they are the only recesses large enough, and match up with two curves on the outside of the housing. They are at the left and right in this picture.

_184.jpg

Next you need to remove the handle at the top of the radix housing that you normally use to pick up the device.

_185.jpg
Remove the two screws deep in the tubular holes you can see at the right of this picture.

Then slightly lift the end of the handle at the end where you removed the screws.

Next use a screw driver to push the other end of the handle off the housing away from the end where you just removed the screws.

_186.jpg
This picture shows the handle pushed out (or ready to be re-attached)

Finally remove the screw revealed by removal of the handle.

You can now lift off the top housing revealing the wormy looking cyclone device This is where most of the **** builds up.. Lift this off and clean everything out thoroughly with water.

Make sure everything is clean and dry!!!!

Re-assemble in reverse order.

_188.jpg

Now your Dysin is restored to original sucking power.

Can't figure out how to get my hoover runabout steam vac to pick up

Assure the ring gasket is in place under the hood. A round rubber gasket must be in place on the round tube under the hood where the recovery tank sits to connect the vacuum from the motor to the round tube on the bottom of the tank.

Also be sure the recovery tank lid is properly aligned to the recovery tank.

If you are unsure about operation, please reference the following manual:

Do not turn on again. You have an obstruction in the fan . You will need to remove the motor from the lower housing, dismantle the fan cover and remove the obstruction, possibly replace the fan as well.
The lower housing plate can be removed revealing a set of clamps around the motor hosusing which will in tun release the motor from the base of the vac.

Beam Soft Touch handle electric harness replacement

Set the bottom part of the handle down(not the part that the screws go in)the contact board will fit into slots on the left side of thehandle half, the switch will go where the cutout is for it on the top, the plug is notched to fit at the lower front part of the handle. Then put the the tube into the hose and set it into the handle. There is a ribe near where the tube sticks out of the handle, it fits into a slot just before it sticks out. There also is a stop for the hose to up against so the contact rings can't slip off. Then put the other half on and screw it down.

The Clog light is on my Sebo Essential G1 vacuum

If you are sure the base is clear, and that the flexible hose and attachment tube are clear, the only other common place for a blockage is the swivel neck that joins the base to the bottom of the dust bag housing.  Here's what to do:
Press the housing release button (front bottom of bag housing) and lift off the bag housing from the base. This can be quite hard (three or four hands would be helpful) but be sure to lift straight. When you've got the bag housing off, release the foot pedal and lower the swivel neck to 45 degrees.  Check inside the swivel neck channel closest to the foot pedal, and clean it out as necessary.

If this doesn't work, please post again and I'll see what else I can do...  If it does help, please rate me!
