Hello, I have a Hitachi 70VS810 that just started going out. I'll be watching TV and the picture will fade away, go out without sound too. The power button blinks fast the whole time its out. It stays out for 30-50 seconds and comes back on. It works as it should for about 10 minutes and goes out again and keeps repeating. Only once did it go out and the temp light came on. I have checked all 3 fans and they all are working. I took the lower back panel off and had a standup fan blowing across the whole electronics. It it were a temp problem, it shouldnt have gone out with that fan blowing. But it did. I dont know what to check next. I thought about disconnecting the temp sensor to see if it stays on but I cant find it. When I search, the results come up for the 50inch. What it shows in the picture for the 50"(a yellow wire)isnt like the inside of mine. Please help! THANK YOU!!

Good Day, you all;

The front panel light on Hitachi TV does not really tell you much. To see what the TV is doing or better said NOT doing is remove back from the set.

If you are not a technical type person, it would be better to consult an authorized service center, but if you are perform this; 1. Remove back
2. Observe led and notice which once light, there are as many as 9 LED's.

Now that will tell you what area of the TV's circuits are to be concerned about.

Let me know, Good Luck, big IRISH.

SOURCE: Hitachi 53SWX12B: Sound goes out for a while, then comes back on

I have the same problem with mine, I can also do the ol Fonzy hit it on the side and the sound will come back on. I have re-soldered many bad looking solder joints and I have finally tracked it down to a part # LSK1aF-5v it is located on the board that the main power plugs into at the very back behind a large transformer. The part can be found at .

This is more likely to be an issue with your power supply not being able to supply the correct voltage to a certain board all the time. Most likely bad/aging capacitors. You could probably find a new repalcement power supply board on line. Check with Shop Jimmy, they may have one fairly cheep.

Sony KPR-53EXR15 pictures fades in and out

Sounds like possibly it could be connection related between any AV/Cable ports. Worst case would be the capacitors of the motherboard leaking. It's possible to fix anything. Just make sure you have the knowledge and the right equipment.

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.
If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the TV will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.
Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again.

If you aren't tech savvy, don't worry, read the rest of this solution and watch the videos.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are positive it's only doing ripple filtering, and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).

Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.

I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.

As you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors.
The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal.

I have a Hitachi 70 inch lcd rear projection tv (70vs810). When the tv is turned back on the screen is very blurry. We have had a problem with it over the past 6 months but it would go away after warming...

This is a well described problem with model #. Thanks for that. Now it could be a tv lamp at the end of its life if the tv lamp is around two years old. Its easy to change lamps and the procedure is explained in owner's manual. If the lamp was replaced recently or the problem stays even after changing the tv lamp, its the optical block going bad. That need professional help and you should not try to mess with it. Check out at These repairs could be expensive and may be wiser to go in for another TV.
