SOURCE: how do i do a matrix problem in my casio fx 115

Hello

First you must set Matrix calculation

[MODE][6:Matrix]. Then By entering one of the numbers [1:MatA] or
[2:Matb] or [3:MatC] you get to choose the dimensions of the matrix

(mxn]. Once finished entering the matrix you clear the screen.

The operations on matrices are available by pressing [Shift][Matrix]

[1:Dim] to change the dimension of a matrix (in fact redefining the matrix)

[2:Data] enter values in a matrix

[3:MatA] access Matrix A

[4:Matb] access Matrix B

[5:MatC] access matrix C

[6:MatAns] access the Answer Matrix (the last matrix calculated)

[7:det] Calculate the determinant of a matrix already defined

[8:Trn] The transpose of a matrix already defined

To add matrices MatA+MatB

To subtract MatA-MatB

To multiply MatAxMatB

To raise a matrixe to a power 2 [x2], cube [x3]

To obtain inverse of MatA already defined MatA[x-1] [x-1] is the x to the power -1 key

Dimensions of matrices involved in operations must match (see you textbook for the rules)

Read the appendix to your user manual, there are several exemples.

Hope helps

SOURCE: how do I use the memory

Hello,

You have 7 memory registers, namely A, B,C, D, X, and Y.

To store a value in say register A you press [SHIFT][RCL] (STO) A. The (STO) is the function you acces when you press [SHIFT][RCL].

Thus

23 [SHIFT][RCL] A displays 23 -->A and the value is shown on the bottom of the screen.

To recall a value from register A, you press [RCL] A.

Hope it helps.

You are confusing this calculator with one of its more sophisticated brothers (FX 115 ES Plus or FX991ES plus). The 82 ES plus has only three modes.

What you want to do is solve the linear equation 2x=10 to find the value of the unknown x that makes the equality true. Solving an equation usually involves rearranging therms, factors and so on. However your calculator was not designed to handle the solution of equations, no matter how simple they are.

Some Casio scientific calculators can solve some types of equations (polynomials of degree 2 or 3, simultaneous linear equations in up to 3 unknowns). These are the FX-115 ES (Plus) and FX-991 ES (Plus C). Other equivalent models are sold in the world under different names.

Your calculator's angle unit is set to grads. In that unit, the value of cosine 60 is correct. You might want to change the unit to degree to get a more orthodox result.

Press SHIFT MODE to access (Setup) and select degree or radians as angle units.

As to a `number that could be found on the unit circle``, I admit I do not understand what you mean because the sine is the measure of a segment that lies along the y-axis and not on the unit circle. If you care to clarify what you want, I may be able to help.

Hello,

It may be due to the angle unit used. You can have angles in degrees, in radians, and in grads. You should set the default angle unit to waht you problem calls for.

To set degree as default SHIFT MODE 3

To set radians as default SHIFT MODE 4

To set grads as default SHIFT MODE 5

The values of angles calculated by the inverse trigonometric functions are in the default unit that is set . This may be the source of the wrong answers that you get.

Hope it helps.
