Sounds like an older plasma TV? If so this is an issue with the Matrix Amplifiers. Can be replaced if you can find them. Manufacturers only mad so many spares 'Replacement' components. Hard to find. It would take a qualified tech to replacement them/solder them in.

50pc56 plasma hd lg tv got thin vertical line going down screen

When you see these thin lines they are caused by a few things. None of which are good.

On smaller tv's the lines can be cause by the contacts coming loose after being bumped. These can be either the contacts with the small ribbon cables or the contacts inside the actual lcd display. The connectors can be reinserted and sometimes that is all it takes. Generally the lcd panel can only be fixed by replacement.

The other thing that causes this are problems with ram/memory or timing issues. Either of those will require the board to be replaced. If the line is on all channels it is usually ram, if it showed only on the odd channel (when you first noticed it) then it is probably timing. Either of these issues require the mainboard to be replaced which is not cheap to do.

Unless you have warranty either through the store or OEM then this is not a cheap fix. The line may go away for periods but eventually it should get worse. The cost of repairs will be worth more than a new replacement TV. So the best advice I can give you is to get a repair estimate to make sure and know what a replacement tv is worth. If its not worth fixing just use the tv until the line gets too annoying or worse then replace it.

The screen just shows a single line in the center from top to bot

vertical deflection failure. either solder on vertical ic, or bad capacitors in vertical circuit, and bad resistor &or ic failure. we fix these in home for 150.00 including 1-year warranty and trip. (oh plus tax for the next stimulus) mch

White line

This is cauced by a collaspe of the vertical output circuit. Normally a relatively easy/quick fix by a skilled repair tech. If you have a nice quality set that is less than 7 years old, it might be worth fixing, otherwise, you might want to consider getting a new one.

Give a call to a local service shop and tell them what TV you have and the problem and see what they provide for an estimate to repair, it might be worth doing and it might make your decision easier to go buy a new one.

Lightning strike

I have the same tv, but the problem I have is the picture is shifted to the right and can not correct it. At 1700, its probably not worth fixing because to expensive to repair, they dont make it anymore
