Question about Refrigerators
I have a GE refrigerator freezing food in the fresh food section. Model #pts25lhsarbb. I had the settings at zero and 38, bet the readins the display will show at time is zero and 34 , I have check the settings and they still show set to zero and 38. Since this started we have replaced all 3 temp sensors , mother board and display board. I have even tried adjusting the temps to 4 and 42, but that has not made any difference.
The damper door may be broken. I had this problem in the past and the fresh food was too cold. I replaced the damper assembly and all was fixed.

SOURCE: GE Monogram freezing food
I got the same problem.
Open the top hook overnight and you will see the temperature will return to normal i.e. 1 degree F
I suspect there is the thermostat or some type of thermal sensor that prevent the freezer to operate during summer time
Hope it help

You're frozen up. Defrost completely. Then, clean your condenser. Make sure to never leave open containers in the fridge...water condenses into ice. If you still have problems, you may be low on gas.

If the machine is under one year old, all working components are under factory warranty. Call for warranty service from selling dealer, or if you moved out of the area, an authorized Whirlpool warranty dealer.

Check the air damper at the back top left of the fresh foods section to see if the damper door has broken and thus not able to close. It is electrically operated, but if it breaks, you can have your exact condition occuer.
