Maytag LSG7800AAW Dryer not working

Its Either One Of Two Problems If Its Electric Its The Thermostat but if its gas it can be either the thermostat or the igniter. If its gas you can watch the igniter or listen to hear if its lighting. If it lights its the thermostat cause if the thermostat is malfunctioning it will turn the gas off when it doesn't detect the flame. It turns the gas off to prevent your home from filling with gas. Hope this helps.
Thanks For Choosing Fixya
Sincerely,
Michael Scott

Maytag dryer thermostat

Not 100% about this model, but the stat is located next to the fan.
Remove the front cover - insert a flat blade between the lid and front panel approx 4" in from each side to release the clips, lift the lid, remove the front panel (2 screws) fan and stat at the bottom, rest is straight forward.

Maytag Dryer Tstat wiring

I believe that this part is a thermostat. If im not mistaken, it shouldnt matter which wire goes on which prong. Think this is a reversable thermostat. It should have just 2 prongs correct? Jim
