I can program my distance radios by holding button then turning on.but that dose not work on the 10x

Correct. The 10X by Motorola uses Dip Switches for both frequency and tone codes. Both are under the battery tray. As you look at it, the left switch which has 4 dip switches is the frequency. On the right is the tone board with 8 switches. You can match the Motorola Distance radios if you have the settings. The 10X has a lot fewer frequencies and tones to choose from. Try this link:

I have xtl 500 model no L20QSS9PW1AN .audio is not comming.its audio interface board consolete is ok, spk is ok cables are ok I also re software but same condition .some fault is inside the main board pl...

Fault with its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

05/94 error on 05 control head

Hi,

This error message indicates an incorrect connection from main radio and your remote head, Check that you have installed correctly and that all plugs and fittings are snug and not loose.

Otherwise, the remote is cactus, that could be another issue, try without the remote and see if the radio works, the answer lies in either of those.

Hope this helps you.

Cheers,
Peter

I have two motorola aux4100 radios. I can not get them receive. When I key it up to transmit, the red LED of the transmitting unit comes on and the green LED on the receiving unit comes on but does not...

I would guess you have a PL set on the receive side, and not on the Transmit side. So the audio is being blocked by the PL (as it is supposed to be!) Check your programming, make sure you have the same PL on tx and rx.

I have 2 Motorola T5000s and 1 T4500 that came together in a set years ago. The two T5000s seem to connect to each other fine, and the T4500 receives messages and signals from the T5000, but does not seem...

Check your interference eliminator code (aka PL, private line, or code). It is likely set to zero (off) on the T5000s and set to a different number on the T4500s. They must match to work together. Otherwise the one with code turned on will not recognize the other one.

Best regards.

Motorola tlkr t3 both units power up ok they are

Your PL or DPL is not set correctly.

Check your owners manual, you can set this with the user buttons on the radio.
Press and hold the PTT button while turning the radio on. this will put the radio in the programing mode.
Be careful, if you do not know how to set the PL DPL or frequency you could make the problem worse.

Part # for an XTL 5000 w-7 control head. H1517A or H1764?

H1517A is listed as a ASTRO SPARE CTRL UNIT W7 FAS. H1764 is listed as a W7 DUAL CONTROL HEAD RETROFIT KIT. You would need to call Motorola to confirm, but it appears one is the number used when you order it with a new radio. The other is the number you use when ordering for a radio you already own. It is unclear what the difference is. The H1764 is significantly higher in price.

Also, the dealers quoting you the W7 may be able to clear this up for you. The XTL5000 is an APB item and not in the standard dealer book.

MOTOROLA XTL 5000

Hello BSEESTADT, The info displayed is telling you to "carry me to the radio shop". When did you buy the unit? Did you purchase a service warrenty? Call your local Motorola shop and ask for a technican not a manger or sales. He may do it for free or maybe a discounted service charge. If a charge is out of budget call some other radio service shops for cost. Good Luck

Problem Recieving

First try programming the Receiver for Carrier only Squelch,,ie no PL /TPL, then check if it will receive the repeater OK.
If the audio still cuts in and out then (assuming no fault exist) either you mis-programmed the Frequency slightly, or the TPL choice was incorrect.

There is also a possibility of a Bandwidth mis-programming.

Repeaters may have 12.5 KHz or 25KHz channel bandwidth. Basically if you set your radio to 12.5 KHZ and it receives a transmission from a 25Khz Repeater because of the higher repeater TX Deviation the audio on your radios RX will cut in and out and may sound distorted and very loud as well. Your radios TX would sound OK though, but would have lower audio level when heard on the repeater RX. Does your TX work OK through the TPL repeater?
