A transmittal or cover letter accompanies a larger item, usually a document. The transmittal letter provides the recipient with a specific context in which to place the larger document and simultaneously gives the sender a permanent record of having sent the material.
Transmittal letters are usually brief. The first paragraph describes what is being sent and the purpose for sending it. A longer transmittal letter may summarize key elements of the proposal in one or two sentences and provide the recipient with other useful information.
End transmittal letters with a one-sentence paragraph that establishes goodwill by thanking or complimenting the recipient.

How do you reprogram a new key for a 2000 Buick park avenue?

Transmitter Programming
Important: All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode, all previously programmed transmitters will be erased upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to four transmitters may be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle. The order in which the transmitters are programmed is important. The first transmitter programmed will be transmitter #1, and the second transmitter programmed will be transmitter #2. The number on the transmitters are for reference only: #2 can be programmed as #1, or vice versa. Additional unnumbered transmitters are also available. Use care to program the transmitters correctly.
  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Use the scan tool Remote Function Actuation Special Function: Program Key Fobs in order to place the remote control door lock receiver into Program Mode. The doors will lock and then unlock in order to confirm program mode.
  4. Important: The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed.
  5. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock in order to confirm the programming of that transmitter.
  6. Repeat the previous step in order to program up to 4 transmitters.
  7. Remove the scan tool.
  8. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

My Ford Focus car doesn't centrally lock anymore, I have to use the key. It's not the fob battery because I changed it.

Sure you did put in a new battery? sure you did insert it correct? not the other way around? sure you did use the correct battery? like CR23 or AAA?
Sure all contacts in the battery compartment and on the battery are clean and shiny?
just a few things you could check.

The keyless entry system is controlled by the (GEM) - generic electronic module .
Keyless Entry The electronic door lock system has two main components:
  • generic electronic module (GEM)(14B204)
  • keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601)
  • NOTE: Battery power and ground must be remove before disconnecting the GEM connectors to avoid setting false codes.
Power Locks Operation The power locks feature allows the customer to lock and unlock the doors via momentary switches located on the driver and passenger door. When the GEM detects a momentary press of the driver or passenger lock button, the GEM will supply power to the driver or passenger lock actuators for approximately 250 ms from relays internal to the GEM. When the GEM detects a momentary press of the driver or passenger unlock button, the GEM will supply power to the driver or passenger unlock actuators for approximately 250 ms from relays internal to the GEM.
Remote Keyless Entry Door Locks Operation The remote entry feature allows the customer to unlock the driver door, unlock all doors, and lock all doors using a valid remote transmitter as long as the ignition switch is not in RUN or START. The driver door is unlocked whenever the GEM detects a valid remote transmitter unlock transmission. All the doors are unlocked when the GEM detects a second valid remote transmitter unlock transmission within three seconds of the first transmission. All the doors are locked when the GEM detects a valid remote transmitter lock transmission. If the GEM detects a second valid remote transmitter lock transmission within three seconds of the first transmission, the doors will lock again, the horn will sound for 20 ms and the parking lamps will flash for 200 ms to indicate the doors are locked. If the GEM detects the driver or passenger door is ajar during the second lock transmission, the doors are locked again and the horn is sounded twice. I just bought a remote and I need to program it in an 06 chevy equinox. How do I do it?

Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. Use care to program the transmitters correctly.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  3. Select Body Control Module.
  4. Select Special Functions.
  5. Select Program Key Fobs.
  6. If you are adding a transmitter to the system, or are replacing a transmitter, choose the Add/Replace Key Fobs option. This allows new transmitters to be added without deleting those currently programmed to the module. If you are replacing all transmitters or none of the transmitters are working, choose the Clear memory and Program All Fobs option. This prevents lost or stolen transmitters from being used to access the vehicle.
  7. Follow the scan tool on-screen directions.
  8. After programming the last transmitter, remove the scan tool.
  9. Exit the vehicle. Attempt to lock/unlock the doors to verify the programming.
  10. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.
  11. if you don't have a scan tool then you can go to a lock smith they can do it cheaper than the dealer sometime.
