Why would a fuse be independant from the fuse box, and be hidden somewhere where it cant be found, and what does input shorted to the ground.

it means that either the power board in the inside unit is faulty and not sending messages to the power board on the compressor unit
if you didn't get the ac service agent out to do the checks, then any other electrician/ac mechanic will not be trained in the product
if you did get the service agent out then complain to the manufacturer about the faulty service

YKR-K/002E cant switch it off with remote?

Make sure the batteries in the remote are good. Reset the aircon and the remote and try again. If not working, need to be fixed.

There may be a switch around the outdoor unit of the aircond for switch off.

Had a lightning storm, now brand new aircon wont restart, remote is ok

The electrical storm may have caused a power surge and burned out the circuit board. Especially, if the power went out briefly and then came right back on. Most manufacturers recommend turning the unit OFF during a power outage/electrical storm.

Hope this helps you.

My samsung ac wont turn on at all. according to the wall plug its getting power but when i press the buttons nothing happens, this just started a few days ago

Ok, for the, start if this is a box type aircon, electronic control and solid state thermostat. For the sake of reference.

The problem could be your power outlet lack the other line. Its should be two wire that is completing the power source. Check this first, maybe a troublesome outlet or power plug or the power chord.

Next could be the aircon unit itself, defective power section, or controller section. Blown fuse, lizard insect mouse are common cause. Also bloated or defective capacitor.

But if you are not inclined or do not have any background to electrical and aircon troubleshooting the much safer and practical way is to call an aircon technician. To do the checking for you.

The remote is all lit up but it will not turn the aircon on or let me change any thing on the remote

You have not said which model aircon this is, but from the sounds of things your remote sensor board is faulty. This is usually easily changed by removing the front cover (three screws usually have a click cover over each of them and situated behind the louver) The sensor board has a thin wire which plugs into the main pc board. It can only be plugged in one way.

Home airconditioner

Does any of the other functions work? the blower fan? (turn the thermostat to on not auto) or the a/c? If not, check the 24 volt transformer and the fuse on the board, if it has one. If you have a meter, set it to a/c and check the wires on the thermostat. You cant check to ground on this, so check red to white, for example.
