One way to solve the problem is to convert all the fractions so that they have the same common denominator, then just add them up.

OK It is a little difficult trying to figure out the fractions you are trying to describe. Are there 3 fractions within the ( ) ? One with a denominator of 3, one with a denominator of 4, and one with a denominator of 6?

If so, the answer is 9q.

You must change the fractions within the ( ) to a common denominator, which would be 12. That would be**8q+3q-2q** all over 12. Since it is all being multiplied by 12 outside the brackets, you just cancel the 12 outside and the 12 denominator inside which leaves the 8q+3q-2q which equals 11q-2q which equals **9q**.
