Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

My JVC RC-BX330 portable cd cassette radio-tuner boombox (please google this model number) (silver with "rust effect" metal grilles) has no sound in the right speaker. Both speakers are rather clogged with dust over the years. Also, the volume control is iffy. When you go to turn up the volume, the marker is pointing up if you look at it from the front down, at its loudest point. Ditto the fact that it only has one working speaker, and the cd mode is rather a lot quieter, this makes for almost silent listening. Also, the working speaker does NOT have that smooth, clean JVC bass. Personally, I think that the solder joints on the volume control and speaker need re-touching. I will also need to clean the speakers of their dust. I don't care if I can't get the other speaker working, but I want to gave the working one fully functional on volume and I NEED that nice, smooth gentle JVC sound quality. Please help. I have a school play coming up and I am the music man. I would love to bring it as I do not want to risk breaking my beloved Goodmans cd player as it is good and was expensive. The JVC is a high quality expendable machine. No, wait, I'll just bring my sony. The JVC is still an important machine to the family and I would like it to be fixed. Please help. :[

SOURCE: logitech speakers will only play on 2 speakers not 5

Liamog, i bought the exact same speakers and sound card, and i had the exact same problem as you. I tried for days to fix it and it turns out that its only a setting you have to enable in your sound card settigns. If you go into your EAX console for your creative sound card you will find a thing that sams CMSS 3D, and all you have to do is select the button that says Enable CMSS 3d surround. I hope this will fix your problem. Alex.

'Sounds' like you have overwhelmed the cone and split it or a solder joint has come adrift Don't know about repair or replacement -Check makers website.

Chances are you have wrecked the cone and movement with the overly high input. Nor repairable if this is the case. Check out the makers website for more tech info

SOURCE: Sound not coming from left side surround sound speaker or my right side front speaker

it is highly likely that you're TV is outputting mono sound, hence the left channel only. check your physical connections to the TV and the balance / channel volume on the television as well.

There may be a hair stuck in the sled transport gear (the sled is the part of the mechanism that moves the laser assembly and tracks the the song as it plays)

I have a JVC RC-ST1, I'm trying to record from CD

check to make sure the tab on the cassette is not on, as if it is, it will prevent the record button from being pushed down , thus avoiding overwriting the cassette.
If thats not the case then the record mechanism is damaged inside the cassette caddy.
