My sewing machine stops after about 10 revolutions, the motor is till running but the needle does not move. any suggestions please ?

1. Loosen the screw on the front of the hand wheel, almost completely.
2. Now, tighten the hand wheel control knob. The needle should be able to move now.
3. Tighten the screw. Your hand wheel control knob should be able to be loosened for bobbin winding and tightened for sewing.
Just for information purposes: The hand wheel control knob is usually the small round knob on the front of the hand wheel and is also very shiny.

The Balance Wheel and the Clutch Release knob will not tighten together again after filling a bobbin. How do I fix this?

THERE IS A SMALL SCREW AT THE MIDDLE KNOB ON THE HAND WHEEL THAT YOU NEED TO LOOSEN. AFTER THAT TIGHTEN THE HAND WHEEL KNOB JUST AS YOU WOULD WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO SEW. NOW, TIGHTEN THE SMALL SCREW. YOUR MACHINE SHOULD BE OK FOR SEWING AND YOUR BOBBIN WINDING.

Why won't my old manual singer sewing machine needle move?

1. Disengage the bobbin winder. That is done by moving the arm away from the center wheel. 2. Tighten the hand wheel. When you tighten you should have resistance like a jar has. If this doesn't then continue. 3. Loosen the small screw attached to the hand wheel center lug. Now, move the hand wheel into a position where it will tighten. 4. Go ahead and tighten the small screw. Now, it should move.

How to tighten or adjust wheel socan sew after threading bobbin

your wheel should tighten enough to make the needle, bobbin, etc to operate. if you loosen the knob the needle, etc shouldn't move. to adjust keep pressure on the knob counterclockwise and loosen the screw. at a point the knob will slide over a hump. you may now tighten the screw and try to use the bobbin wind and sew functons. you may need to do this adjustment a couple of times.

Needle does not move when I try to sew.

On these old singers, there is a locking washer that controls the tighten and release mechanism. If it is not in the proper place your efforts to tighten and loosen to engage the sewing functions do nothing.

My sears sewing machine all of a sudden started moving slowly but the motor sounds like it is moving fast. It barely moves and will not sew. Any ideas?

Check your wheel and see if the small wheel inside of it is tightened, I suspect that you had wound a bobin recently and didn't tighten it back enough

Took stop motion knob off how do the pieces go

You should have a three pronged washer, put that on first anyway round, then put the stop motion wheel on and tighten fineger tight, tighten the small screw that should be on the stop motion wheel and tighten a bit more, if it does not tighten up take the stop motion wheel off and put the three pronged washer in a different position.

My White machine is not working, it has power but the needle does not move and will not run. It makes sound that is trying to but nothing happens.

If this model has a knob/small wheel in the center of the hand-wheel, it needs to be tighten for sewing and loosened for bobbin winding.

Turn, by hand, toward the back of the machine to tighten.
