To obtain this code, you'll first need to take out the battery and look at the sticker on the back on the phone where the battery was. You should see a number labeled the IMEI.
Then, contact the company the phone was made for (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, whomever). It should say their name or logo somewhere on the phone. They will ask you to provide the IMEI and it should be no time at all before you have the code.
